Rosehill July 22nd, Tips and Previews

Best Bet - Rosehill Race 8

Semana $3.60

Semana is in career-best form!

The Winning Rupert filly has won three out of her last five outings, and arguably there should be a picket fence next to her name.

She will roll forward and make her own luck on top of the speed, and I suspect she is ready for the 1500m at this stage of her campaign.

The form around her is rock-solid, and she still has plenty of natural improvement to come.

The class rise is the primary concern.

Resonator is too consistent to dismiss.

He is having a breakthrough preparation and can figure in the finish with even luck in transit.

From barrier four, the Brazen Beau gelding can sit in the box seat, and if he sees daylight on straightening, he may prove too strong in the shadows.

This is his acid test!

Omni Man $2.70

Omni Man looks to have a mortgage on the penultimate event.

The I Am Invincible gelding was an impressive last-start winner at Randwick, and the rising five-year-old is low-flying this campaign.

The step out in distance is advantageous; he looks ideally placed in this grade with 54kg.

From the carpark draw, he will roll forward in search of the lead, and if he can find the top spot without using too much petrol early, it could be curtains a long way from home.

The Gai Waterhouse polish must be respected, and there has been a flood of money for the big boy in early betting.

The class rise is his biggest obstacle.

Sweet Ride is ready to win.

The Deep Field colt was good fresh without winning at Caulfield, and he usually does his best racing at the distance.

From barrier seven, he can sit in a prominent position with cover, and if the leaders spend their pennies early, he can prove too strong in the shadows.

He needs to bring his best manners to race day!

Extreme Spirit $12.00/$3.50

Extreme Spirit caught the eye first-up at headquarters.

The Extreme Choice colt strips fitter with a 1200m run under his belt, and he looks to have plenty of natural improvement to come this campaign.

From barrier eight, the Gary Portelli-trained runner will settle back and watch the race unfold, and if he can stay in touch with the peloton in the early stages of the race, he can figure in the finish.

The current track conditions suit, and I suspect he will have the fitness edge over most of his rivals.

Over the odds!

Taormina will start favourite after an impressive debut win at Warwick Farm.

The Written Tycoon filly showed a tremendous turn of foot, and her effort was backed up on the clock.

She will lead the field a merry dance jumping from the perfect inside barrier, and if she doesn’t leave the kettle on during the early stages, she can greet the judge before her opponents.

I am still determining if she will find the front uncontested.

QUADDIE

Q

$48 for 200%

Chorlton Lane looks a moral in the opening leg of the quaddie.

The Mehmas gelding was ultra-impressive in his Australian debut.

He clocked the fastest last 600m of the meeting, and Saturday’s event looks ideal second-up.

Resonator and Semana will fight out the day’s feature event, while Sweet Ride and Omni Man look to have the July Sprint between them.

It’s a field job in the lucky last!
