Hughes $4.00
Hughes can resume a winner!
The Russian Revolution gelding was impressive during his debut campaign, and he turned heads at a recent jumpout.
1400m is in his wheelhouse, and I suspect the camp will have the rising four-year-old fully wound up for a first-up tilt.
If Beau Mertens can get the big boy to the front during the race’s early stages, he may lead them a merry dance.
Avoiding an early-speed battle is the biggest challenge.
Castillian will have supporters after producing a consistent preparation to date.
His last-start performance at Flemington was sensational, and I am sure it is in the memory bank of most punters.
The Per Incanto gelding will appreciate the significant drop in grade, and the 3kg apprentice claim puts him into all winning conversations.
His recent winning record is the primary concern.

Tasman Park $4.00
Tasman Park is knocking on the door!
The Ocean Park gelding is coming off a string of narrow defeats, and he looks poised to strike from the perfect inside draw.
The 1600m is ideal at this stage of his preparation, and the 2kg apprentice claim could prove the winning difference.
He will appreciate the drop in grade, and the sting out of the ground is advantageous.
Hard to toss!
Regal Azmon was a brilliant winner at Sale first-up from a spell.
The Magnus gelding meets similar opposition, and the step out in distance looks ideal second-up.
From barrier seven, he will drift back and find his feet, and if he can stay in touch with the peloton during the race’s middle stages, he can make his presence felt late.
He needs to beat the handicapper and the allocated weight.
Best Roughie - Sandown Race 4

Anahita $14.00/$3.70
Anahita is racing in great spirit.
The Shalaa filly has won three races impressively this campaign, and I suspect she will have the fitness edge on the majority of her rivals.
She is no stranger to this grade and finds a very winnable assignment on Wednesday.
The 1400m looks ideal at this stage of her campaign, and she should get the run of the race from barrier three.
The apprentice claim could prove a masterstroke, and she has been specked at a decent price in early betting.
Over the odds!
Coriolis will start favourite after producing a breathtaking preparation to date.
The Lonhro filly arguably should be undefeated this spell, and with even luck in transit, she can continue on her winning ways this Wednesday.
She will sit behind the speed from barrier four, and if Carleen Hefel can get her off the rail at the right time, I expect her to figure in the finish.
This is her acid test!
QUADDIE
Q
$56 for 200%
Our best bet Hughes can get our quaddie off to the perfect start.
The talented three-year-old is lightly raced and has plenty of natural improvement to come.
Regal Azmon and Tasman Park will fight out the second leg, while Time Quest looks a moral in the penultimate event.
I am happy to take on the odds-on favourite Rheinberg from barrier thirteen in the lucky last.

Leg 2: 1, 2
