Storm vs. Sea Eagles
September 10th
Melbourne Storm face the tricky task of battling Manly in the first qualifying final without Josh Addo-Carr.
The man dubbed ‘The Foxx’ has been ruled out of the game with a hamstring complaint suffered in the Round 24 loss to Parramatta, while Manly finished its home and away with a thumping 28-point victory over North Queensland.
Melbourne has already got the wood over Manly this season having handed the Sea Eagles a 10-point defeat.
But without his leading tryscorer, Craig Bellamy will need to be at his tactical best to overcome a Sea Eagles team who ride the wave momentum built by superstar arguably the greatest Sea Eagle ever Tom Trbojevic.
‘Turbo Tom’ has had one of the best ever season by an individual and he has not been without support.
Jason Saab and Reuben Garrick have both been brilliant and pose a massive threat to the Storm.
SUGGESTED BET:
Manly head to head at $3.20
Roosters vs. Titans
September 11th
Sydney and Gold Coast face off in a do or die contest from Queensland Country Bank Stadium.
The Roosters have done brilliantly well to get as far as they have given the spate of injuries that have plagued their squad throughout the season.
The Titans, meanwhile, snuck their way into the final spot inside the eight after smashing New Zealand 44-0 to end the season with a flurry of tries.
James Tedesco is going to prove pivotal in the result of this game with the Roosters fullback missing out on the 35-34 win agains the Titans during the home and away season.
Roosters should be able to get the job done here as they continue to defy the odds that have been stacked against them this year.
SUGGESTED BET:
Roosters -10.5 at $1.90
Panthers vs. Rabbitohs
September 11th
Penrith begins its quest for atoning the heartbreak of last season when it faces South Sydney in the second qualifying final.
The Panthers went tit for tat alongside Storm for the majority of the season, but had to settle for second spot.
South Sydney, for all its brilliance this season which led to a huge winning streak, must reverse the form it has showed against the Panthers this year.
Penrith boasts two big wins over the Souths with the most recent being a 25-12 success in Round 23.
Not sure how the Rabbitohs conjure up victory here with the likes of Nathan Clearly, Charlie Staines and Brian To’o likely to cause havoc.
SUGGESTED BET:
Panthers -10.5 at $1.92
Eels vs. Knights
September 12th
Rest up and get ready for the elimination final.
That was the mantra for Parramatta and Newcastle in their final round fixtures which saw both teams suffer defeat against inferior opposition.
There are now a host of star inclusions for the Eels headlined by Clint Gutherson, while the Knights welcome back a plethora of players including Hymel Hunt.
Parramatta has been listed as the favourite and fortify that claim having belted the Knights 40-4 in Round 13 this year.
