NFL Week 1, Tips and Previews

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Dallas Cowboys

September 9th

Tom Brady and his Tampa Bay Buccaneers begin their Super Bowl defence when they come head to head with Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys.

Brady will enter the season as a seven-time Super Bowl champion with the near certainty that this will be his last hoorah.

The Buccaneers went through pre-season having won one out of their three matches with Brady playing a minor role, while Dallas lost all four without Dak Prescott playing.

The word around the traps at Arlington is that Prescott is fit and ready to go despite rumours circling about a shoulder injury he has carried throughout the off-season.

Dallas is probably the biggest tease in the NFL with star running back Zeke Elliot looking to find that career best form which saw him honoured with an enormous contract.

The problem for Dallas is its weak defensive line coming up against one of the most elite offensive lines in the league.

The Buccaneers possess deep catching receivers who will trouble Dallas all game.

SUGGESTED BET:

Tampa Bay Buccaneers -8.5 at $1.94

Chicago Bears vs. Los Angeles Rams

September 13th

The big news coming into this clash between the highly fancied Los Angeles Rams and Chicago Bears is Andy Dalton taking the starting quarterback position after a solid enough pre-season.

The former Bengals quarterback will sit in the gun for the Bears over teammate Justin Fields who is viewed as a long-term prospect.

Los Angeles, meanwhile, will send in a near full-strength line up with Matthew Stafford making his Rams debut after spending over a decade with the Detroit Lions.

Aaron Donald remains arguably the best player in football, and his abilty to pressure the pocket seems too much for the Bears to deal with.

The Rams are looking to progress on their 10-6 season through 2020/21 and with Stafford in the gun we should see a home victory to start the season.

SUGGESTED BET:

Los Angeles Rams -7.5 at $1.91

Las Vegas Raiders vs. Baltimore Ravens

September 14th

Baltimore and Las Vegas meet for the first since the 2018/19 NFL season when they play in the Monday night prime time slot Allegiant Stadium in Nevada.

The Ravens enter this game as the slight favourite on the back of an undefeated pre-season campaign, while the Raiders enter the season having gone two wins from its three trial games.

Baltimore has made a habit of winning its opening game in the last two seasons, but the Raiders boast five season opening victories in a row and will be keen to get the job in front of the home fans.

John Gruden will be tasked with guiding his side to better a lopsided win-loss ledger in favour of the Ravens who lead the head to head between the two teams with nine wins and three losses.

The focal point for the Raiders will be its attempt to stop gun quarterback Lamar Jackson from rifling through a shaky defence with freakish passing and running game combo.

It’s probably not the opponent the Raiders wanted coming into a new season.

SUGGESTED BET:

Baltimore Ravens -4.5 at $1.91
