Best Bet - Gold Coast Race 7
10
Miss Joelene $3.00
Miss Joelene looks the best bet on a tough and competitive program.
The Cejay Graham-trained galloper caught the eyes of punters at her latest outing, and her victory two starts back is still fresh in the memory bank.
The step out in trip is advantageous, and her opening quote has disappeared faster than last week’s pay.
Her racing pattern and style always requires an element of good fortune.
Sly Boots is the obvious danger to the favourite.
The Toronado gelding was an impressive last-start winner at Randwick, and he deserves his shot at this level.
He traditionally performs well third-up from a spell, and I suspect he has been trained to the minute for this $500,000 assignment.
Major player!

Grafterburners $2.50
Grafterburners is building a picket fence next to his name.
The Graff colt oozes class, and I suspect he has fences and panels on his rivals here.
The 1100m is ideal at this stage of his campaign, and a perfect inside draw will allow the big boy to roll forward and take up a prominent role.
The key appointment of James McDonald speaks volumes, and the camp are training winners for fun at present.
Hard to toss!
Ice Kool has made a perfect start to his racing career.
The undefeated Zoustar gelding has more upside and potential than the majority of his rivals, and I suspect this event has been a long-range target from the astute stable.
The awkward gate and his limited racing experience are among the primary concerns.

Bossed Up $8.50/$2.50
Bossed Up is over the odds.
The Better Than Ready gelding is a model of consistency, and he deserves a chance at the generous prize money that is on offer.
Barrier four will allow him to camp on the leader’s back throughout, and if he can get off the dulex as they run for the doctor, he can figure in the finish.
The 52kg is a luxury, and his opening quote has been smashed in most, if not all, markets.
Acid test!
Boomtown Boss will have plenty of supporters after producing a consistent campaign to date.
The Spirit Of Boom gelding doesn’t know how to run a bad race, and the form around him has stood up time and again.
The Craig Williams factor must be respected, and I suspect he will jump the race favourite if the significant money trail continues.
The carpark draw is the primary concern.
QUADDIE
Q
$60 for 100%
Miss Joelene has one hoof on the till in the opening leg of the quaddie, the Magic Millions ‘The Wave’.
The consistent five-year-old Russian Revolution mare is flying at present, and she looks well placed to strike.
We have a handful of gallopers flying the flag in the Magic Millions ‘The Syndicate’, while Grafterburners may decide our hopes and dreams in the penultimate event on the card.
We have gone extremely wide in the lucky last.
