Skybird $3.60

Skybird is flying!

The undefeated Exosphere filly hasn’t put a foot wrong in her three career starts to date, and her recent victory at Moonee Valley was breathtaking.

Her versatility is second to none, and she looks hard to toss jumping from a perfect inside barrier.

She is already a winner at the mile, and I suspect she has further natural improvement to come for the preparation.

The Mitchell Freedman and Beau Mertens combination must be respected, and with even luck in transit, I expect her to prove too strong late.

Coeur Volante will have supporters after recording back-to-back wins this campaign.

The Proisir filly is ready for the longer trip and looks poised to strike third-up from a spell.

She should get the run of the race jumping from a middle gate, and if the in-form Blake Shinn presents her with her run at the right time, I expect her to figure in the finish.

Snapback $6.00

Snapback is ready to peak.

The Snitzel colt was good through the line at his latest outing, and I suspect this event has been on the radar for some time.

The 1400m won’t pose any problems, and with plenty of upside left in the tank, I expect him to stand up and announce himself on Saturday.

From barrier seven, he will drift back and watch the race unfold, and if he can stay in touch with the peloton during the middle stages of the race, he will make his presence felt late.

Arkansaw Kid will start favourite after producing a monster performance in the Group 1 Coolmore Stakes.

His win two starts back in the Gothic Stakes was first-class, and he looks suited stepping out over the seven furlongs.

If the Harry Angel colt can sit midfield with some cover, I suspect he will chime into win late.

Can he produce another peak performance?

Vilana $11.00/$3.50

Vilana is set to explode third-up from a spell.

Both runs this campaign have been full of merit, and the Hallowed Crown entire looks well placed at the weights.

From barrier one, he can camp on the leader’s back, and if the gaps appear at the right time, I expect him to greet the judge before his rivals.

He is a proven winner, and I am hoping, as will the capacity crowd, that Damien Oliver can claim his 130th Group 1 victory aboard the talented five-year-old.

I Am Me will need to overcome a wide alley.

The I Am Invincible mare was good behind Imperatriz at her latest outing, and the 1400m is ideal at this stage of her preparation.

She is building an enviable career record, and if she can pinch some cheap sectionals throughout, she will look the winner on straightening.

QUADDIE

Q

$96 for 100%

Skybird can claim Group 1 glory in the Thousand Guineas.

The talented filly has plenty of upside, and she is the clear standout selection in the first leg of the quaddie.

Vilana, I Am Me, Skew Wiff, Magic Time, Munhamek, and Cause For Concern will all be prominent in the Group 1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes while it’s a field job in the Victorian Country Cup Final.

She Dances can finish the day on a winning note for the punters in the How Now Stakes.

Best of luck!
