Best Bet - Caulfield Race 5

Inhibitions $5.50

Inhibitions is super honest.

The Zoustar filly hasn’t missed the quinella all campaign, and she looks well placed in this company.

The step out to 1400m is perfect at this stage of her preparation, and she looks dangerous jumping from a perfect inside barrier.

The talented three-year-old is super versatile, and with even luck in transit, I expect her to figure in the finish.

Lovely Lookin’ comes to the heath up and about.

The American Pharoah has turned heads in the city of churches and deserves her shot at this level.

The flood of early money indicates another forward showing, and I suspect this event has been a long-range target.

This is her acid test.

Soulcombe $6.00

Soulcombe has a sense of timing.

All runs this preparation have caught the eye, and he looks destined to take out the time-honoured Caulfield Cup.

He has been screaming out for the 2400m since the moon landing, and he should get the perfect run in transit from the middle gate.

His run in the Group 1 Turnbull Stakes was ominous, and the Chris Waller factor should never be underestimated.

Gold Trip was visually stunning at his latest outing.

He broke the oncourse clocks and destroyed his rivals before the famous Flemington clock tower.

He will drift back from the wide alley, and if he doesn’t get too far out of his ground, he will make his presence felt when the whips are cracking.

A date with Flemington on the first Tuesday in November looks likely.

Shuffle Dancer $11.00/$3.00

Shuffle Dancer is over the odds.

Both runs this preparation have been full of merit, and her next win is just around the corner.

The I Am Invincible mare will relish the step out to 1400m, and she should get the perfect cart into the race from the middle draw.

Her barrier manners and slow starts are among the primary concerns.

C’est Magique will start favourite after an honest run in a hot-form race.

The Zoustar mare makes her debut over 1400m, and this looks a very winnable assignment for the talented four-year-old.

Barrier three is advantageous; if the gaps appear at the right time, she can break through.

Her winning record is the biggest deterrent.

QUADDIE

Q

$63 for 50%

Skew Wiff, Revolutionary Miss, Shuffle Dancer, Wrote To Arataki, Waltz On By, and C’est Magique may decide our quaddie fate in a very open first leg of the quaddie.

Nunthorpe looks one of the better bets of the day in the Moonga Stakes, while we have gone extremely wide in the time-honoured Caulfield Cup.

Viviane, Hypothetical, and Ghaanati will all run well for the punters in the final event on the program.

Best of luck!
