Coffs Harbour August 4th, Tips and Previews

Best Bet - Coffs Harbour Race 7

Stonecoat $4.20

Stonecoat looks dangerous on the quick backup.

The Pierro gelding was game in defeat at Randwick, and he should give a good sight on Friday from an inside draw.

His record at the trip is outstanding, and I suspect he is ready to produce a peak run for the campaign.

The 54kg is a luxury for the talented four-year-old, and there has been a flood of money for the Gai Waterhouse-trained runner in early betting.

Hard to toss!

King Of The Castle will have supporters after producing a consistent preparation to date.

The Castledale gelding deserves his shot at the feature event, and he looks dangerous jumping from barrier four.

The seven-year-old will sit in the box seat, and if the gaps appear at the right time, he can prove too strong in the shadows.

He is a 1600m specialist, and the Joseph Pride factor must be respected.

French Marine $4.80

French Marine can resume a winner for the powerful and inform Kris Lees stable.

The Epaulette gelding traditionally races well fresh; the 1200m is his pet distance.

Four recent barrier trials should have him cherry ripe for a first-up tilt, and he has been heavily supported since the market opened.

He will roll forward from barrier thirteen, and if he can find some cover in the running line, he can figure in the finish.

Classy Jaybee looks over the odds.

The Danerich gelding savaged the line at Grafton fresh, and he usually grows an extra leg second-up.

His record at the distance is near perfect, and he should find the front from the middle gate during the early stages of the race.

The seven-year-old has an impressive career record, and if he is left to his own devices on top of the speed, he can lead his rivals a merry dance.

This is his acid test.

Erelle $10.00/$3.00

Erelle is ready to win!

Both runs this campaign have been teasing, and I suspect a peak run is on the cards for Friday.

The Press Statement filly will appreciate the 1200m, and she should get the run of the race from barrier four.

The Cavanough trained runner strips fitter, and I suspect she has plenty of natural improvement to come for the preparation.

It may pay dividends to watch for any significant market support.

Rule Of Salex will start favourite on debut.

The U S Navy Flag gelding has trialled exceptionally well leading into this event, and he has been hammered in early betting.

From the middle gate, he can sit close to the speed with cover, and if he is presented with his run at the right time, he can make his presence felt late.

How he handles his first trip to the races may decide his fate.

QUADDIE

Q

$96 for 100%

The opening leg of the quaddie looks like the hardest event on the program.

Greyworm, Classy Jaybee, French Marine, and Boncassie will be prominent in the sixth event, while Stonecoat can head back to Sydney with the Coffs Harbour Cup in his possession.

Convincebility and Olakau’atu look to have the lucky last between them.

Best of luck!
