Brand New $3.00

Brand New looks poised to strike third up from a spell.

His two runs to date have been full of merit, and he seems incredibly hard to beat from an inside draw.

The mile suits and I expect him to control the race from the outset.

With two runs under his belt, he should be a rock hard fit and may prove hard to run down.

The Luke Nolen and Peter Moody combination must be respected.

Futile Resistance was good on debut behind the talented Yasuke.

If he can overcome the wide draw, he will be there when the whips are cracking.

Promises Kept is knocking on the door.

He is fitter for two runs and can peak on Thursday night.

Roma's Wish $7.50

Roma’s Wish was brave on speed last start at Pakenham.

She is a winner at the track previously, and she looks well placed in this grade.

If she can pinch some cheap sectionals early, it could be curtains halfway down the home straight.

She represents excellent each-way value, and I expect a peak performance with the good run in transit.

Israelite Bay will start favourite after producing two teasing runs this campaign.

The Sebring mare savaged the line at her last outing, and the rise to 1400m is advantageous.

The Mark Zahra and Ciaron Maher combination has a proven track record.

Intrepid Eagle can run well despite jumping from another suburb.

The gelding by Alpine Eagle has a sharp turn of foot, and he can win if he covers only a little ground early.

Best Roughie - Pakenham Race 4

2

Bifrost $14/$3.60

Bifrost can bounce back here after a rare flop at Moonee Valley.

He didn’t finish too far off the winners, but he did lack the killer punch.

The class drop is advantageous, and he faces his most straightforward assignment for some time.

The 1200m looks perfect for this stage of his preparation, and I expect him to make his presence felt at the right time.

Marble Arch will start around the even money quote.

She has produced two impressive performances in her debut campaign, and her win at the track last start was blistering.

The step-up from maiden grade to benchmark level is always tricky, but she has plenty of upside.

If she can overcome an awkward barrier, she can continue on her winning ways.
