Racing June 15th, Tips and Previews

Best Bet - Strathalbyn Race 6

6

Pivotal Force $3

Victim of circumstance at his last few sprinting runs.

Slightly outclassed at city grade two back and then dropped in grade in a more suitable race, only to cop an inside barrier which halted his momentum in the run.

Out wider suits better for him and remains in the same grade.

Barend Vorster knows the way home and his strong riding style late in the race is what should pay dividends.

Next Best - Doomben Race 3

3

Primal Lockdown $2.80

This three-year-old gelding has clearly thrown to his sire in Rubick.

The 1000-metre trial he undertook at Sunshine Coast was as slick as they come when winning by five lengths.

Can race in the lead or just off the speed here.

Ben Thompson booked first-up and the O’Dea & Hoysted stable are usually good at firing their horses fresh.

Best Roughie - Sandown Race 6

10

Unfair Dismissal $21/$5

A wet track and fast-run race should not prove too many problems for Unfair Dismissal.

He usually races well at Sandown with four starts equating to three placings.

Beau Mertens knows him well and all his prices in the last few runs have been single figures.

Seems big odds.

QUADDIE

Q

$192 for 20%

Sandown quaddie time.

Plenty of runners to like throughout the quaddie legs, especially on a heavy track with the rail out.

You want to get involved with horses drawn out wide on the course.

Leg 2: 4, 7, 9, 10, 11, 17
Leg 3: 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 11, 17, 19
Leg 4: 1, 4, 5, 8
