Got way too far back on a heavy track at Canterbury when second-up from a spell.
He was hitting the line nicely and ran his final 600 metres in 39.05 in a race which was nearly a full second quicker than the one the second favourite in Vittoriosa comes out of.
The main favourite in Samarkand won well at the provincials when resuming but he is only second up into this race and might lack the race fitness to make it a winning run in city grade.
At the price and from a soft barrier, Chateux Park is clearly the one to be with.

Maddox $4.8
It is highly likely Maddox just lacked the race conditioning to run boldly when first-up from a spell at Benalla over 1100 metres in BM-64 grade.
She led the field up and was kicking away, but the last 100 metres saw her knock up and be easily overtaken by the eventual winner.
She did a good job to hang for second and there is no doubt she will benefit from the run.
Tahlia Hope needs to be on her game here in order to keep out the other likely front-runner I’m Cheeky.
The Sale track has been favouring leaders of late, hence she represents the best in this race.

Acheus $16/$4.4
Has taken a liking to the Sale racetrack having tallied up a win and two placings from five starts.
He returns to the scene of his most recent victory after being asked to do way too much work early in the run at this track over 1600 metres in BM-64 grade behind the likes of So You See and Yaphet.
After sitting outside the lead of that racing and ridiculously fast sectionals for the grade and his talent, he packed up shop and folded like a deck of cards at the 300-metre mark.
This is far easier race for him and he is predicted to get an easy time of it up front.
Much more suitable circumstances than a big field and hot speed.

Going very wide in this quaddie with a host of favourites looking vulnerable.
With the track playing rails in and favouring leaders, results can often throw up big odds winners.
