Sha Tin – Hong Kong December 8th, Tips and Previews

Best Bet - Hong Kong Sprint - Race 5

Ka Ying Rising $1.30

Ka Ying Rising could be a global superstar!

The Shamexpress gelding smashed Sacred Kingdom’s track record at his latest outing, and he had the audacity to ease up for the photo.

His career record is near faultless, and David Hayes believes he could be the best horse he has ever trained!

He deserves his shot at Group 1 Glory, and an impressive win here could catapult him into favourite for next year’s Everest.

Better than bank interest!

California Spangle can win if the favourite experiences traffic issues or has an off day.

His winning strike rate is exceptional, and he was crowned Hong Kong’s Champion sprinter for the 2023/2024 racing season.

Proven at Group 1 level multiples times over varying distances, and he is simply too consistent and versatile to dismiss.

Next Best - Hong Kong Vase - Race 4

Without A Fight $4.00

Without A Fight was brilliant late behind Via Sistina in the Champions Stakes at Flemington.

The Teofilo gelding should improve dramatically second-up after a long layoff, and his best performance here could be fences and panels better than his rivals.

The Melbourne and Caulfield Cup winner will be savaging the line late, and he handles all conditions.

Poised to make a stunning return to winners’ circle on the international stage.

Dubai Honour returns to Hong Kong for the fourth time.

His form behind Romantic Warrior reads well for this event, and he is proven at Group 1 level in multiple countries.

His lead-up performance in England was ominous, and I suspect this event has been a long-range target from the astute camp.

Will be thereabouts again.

Best Roughie - Hong Kong Mile - Race 7

Lazzat $9.00/$3.00

Lazzat is over the odds.

The Territories gelding won his first six career starts in fine style, and his performance in the lucrative Golden Eagle was unlucky and controversial.

He covered more ground than the early settlers’ throughout, and he was pestered and challenged for the lead from the outset.

The mile will suit after a little freshen up, and I suspect he will pilot the field with a clean break from the barriers.

Good eachway value.

Antino is racing is at the peak of his powers.

The form around him this spring is phenomenal, and his performance two starts back in the Group 1 Toorak Handicap was arguably the victory of the spring.

The class rise and the strength of the world-class opposition are among the primary concerns.

QUADDIE - SHA TIN

Q

$98 for 25%

Antino and Lazzat will battle it out in the Hong Kong Mile.

Both are flying, and I suspect they will go head-to-head during the final furlong.

Romantic Warrior looks a moral in the Hong Kong Cup, while it’s a field job in the penultimate event on the program.

Nothing would surprise in the lucky last!
