Pericles $3.00

Pericles looks poised to strike fresh!

The Street Boss gelding is a first-up specialist who excels over 1400m.

His performances in the Golden Eagle, Futurity, and Doncaster were all top-notch, and he has performed exceptionally well leading into this event.

I suspect he has been trained to the minute for a first-up tilt, and if he is fully wound up, I expect him to gobble up his rivals late.

Munhamek is winning for fun at present.

The Dark Angel gelding is building a picket fence next to his name, and he deserves his shot at this level.

The nine-year-old has had a recent freshen-up since his heroics in the Flemington Winter Championships; the drop back to 1400m could prove a training masterstroke.

I am unsure if he can produce another peak performance for the campaign.

Arkansaw Kid $4.80

Arkansaw Kid resumes with an air of expectation.

The Harry Angel gelding turned heads recently at the trials, and I expect him to come on leaps and bounds this campaign after undergoing the ultimate gear change.

The enigmatic four-year-old looks well placed in this company, and there has been a flood of money for the big boy in early betting.

His record at the trip is the biggest deterrent.

It’sourtime is too consistent to pot.

The Time For War gelding was brilliant without winning in the Aurie’s Star, and his prior form reads incredibly well for this event.

His record at the distance must be respected, and I suspect Jamie Kah will get the best out of the honest seven-year-old.

He tends to find one or two better on race day.

Tijuana $20.00/$4.80

Tijuana is knocking on the door.

The American Pharoah gelding is racing well without winning, and the form around him has repeatedly stood up.

The 1400m looks ideal at this stage of his preparation, and the current track conditions will play into his favour.

I suspect he has the fitness edge on most of his rivals and does his best racing in Victoria.

Over the odds!

Elouyou looks hard to toss in the lucky last.

The So You Think gelding is having a breakthrough campaign, and I suspect he can continue on his winning way with even luck in transit.

From barrier four, he will roll forward and pilot the field, and if he can find another gear when they run for the judge, he may prove hard to run down.

The class rise is his biggest obstacle.

QUADDIE

Q

$96 for 50%

Arabian Summer and Kuroyanagi will battle out in the Quezette Stakes.

Both have plenty of upside, and the early market support is overwhelming for the respective runners in question.

It’sourtime and Arkansaw Kid will fly the flag in the Regal Roller Stakes, while Pericles and Munhamek will fight out the finish in the feature event of the day, the Group 2 P.B. Lawrence Stakes.

It’s a lucky dip in the final event on the program.
