Best Bet - Rosehill Race 8

Storm Boy $2.20

Storm Boy is the real deal!

The valuable Justify colt hasn’t put a foot wrong to date, and he looks to have one of Australia’s racing majors, the Golden Slipper, well within his reach.

His versatility is well beyond his years, and I suspect he will get better the further he stretches out.

From barrier two, he can roll forward and sit just off the speed, and if he sees daylight before the final furlong, I don’t think they can beat him!

He honestly could be the best two-year-old of our generation.

Switzerland is here to spoil the party.

The Snitzel colt remains unbeaten, and the form around him has repeatedly stood up.

The big boy oozes class and possesses a devastating turn of foot.

If he can put it all together on game day, he can cause a huge upset.

Tom Kitten $3.60

Tom Kitten keeps snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

All runs this preparation have been frustrating to watch, and he is well overdue for another victory.

The step out to 2000m is perfect at this stage of his campaign, and I suspect this is his major autumn target.

With even luck in-transit, I expect him to prove too strong for his rivals late.

Tom being Tom is the primary concern!

King Colorado can bounce back after a below-par effort in the Australian Guineas.

The Kingsman Colt pulled up with excuses, and he is simply too valuable and talented to dismiss.

The longer journey will suit, and if the peloton leaves the kettle on during the race’s early stages, he can capitalise in the shadows.

Amenable $17.00/$4.80

Amenable is over the odds!

The Lonhro gelding had a stellar spring campaign, and I am expecting him to reach dizzy heights during the autumn after undergoing the ultimate gear change.

He strips fitter after his fresh effort on top of the speed at Flemington, and he looks well placed second-up in this company.

The inside draw will allow him to run out a strong 1500m, and the appointment of Mark Zahra could prove the winning difference.

Think About It can bounce back after having his colours lowered first-up.

He wasn’t suited by the trot and canter throughout, and he will take benefit and improvement with a run under his belt.

The Everest Champion takes on the longer trip for the first time, and he has drawn out in another suburb.

I am happy to take him on at the short quote.

QUADDIE

Q

$80 for 50%

A tricky assignment to select a quaddie on a very even and competitive day of Group 1 racing.

Think About It, Pericles, Kovalica, Golden Mile, Unspoken, Amenable, Militarize, and Veight, will all be thereabouts in the George Ryder Stakes, while Storm Boy has the Golden Slipper at his mercy.

Nothing would surprise in the Galaxy, while Olentia and C’est Magique will battle it out in the Birthday Card Stakes.

Best of luck!
