Best Bet - Canterbury Race 7

Flashing Steel $3.90

Flashing Steel is a winning machine.

The Not A Single Doubt gelding is building the picket fence, and he has been ultra-impressive around the tight and turning Canterbury track at his latest two outings.

The 3kg apprentice claim puts him into all winning conversations, and his record at the distance is perfect.

He meets similar opposition on Wednesday, and he looks the good thing on a competitive program of racing!

The length of his preparation is the primary concern.

Imrahor is ready to produce a peak performance for the preparation.

The Kingman gelding attacked the line last start, and he should be rock-hard fit at this campaign stage.

From barrier three, he can box seat, and if he is presented with his run at the right time, he can threaten.

He needs to beat the handicapper and allocate weight.

Wezza $3.40

Wezza is knocking on the door!

The Rubick filly savaged the line second-up over 1100m, and the step out in distance looks ideal third-up from a spell.

She has the best exposed form, and I am confident that her race day experience will put her in the finish.

She can camp on the leader’s back from barrier four, and if she can rail like a greyhound in the home straight, she is the one to beat.

Belledonne will have supporters on resumption.

The Kingman filly has been freshened up since her career debut, and her recent barrier trials leading into this event have been first-class.

The James Cummings and Chad Schofield combination must be respected.

The wide gate in the small field is her biggest obstacle.

Tropical Squall will start a long odds-on favourite.

The Prized Icon filly has trialled well, and she has been smashed in early betting.

Happy to watch her debut and avoid the skinny quote!

Best Roughie - Canterbury Race 3

Dapper Dancer $13.00/$2.80

Dapper Dancer looks over the odds on the quick backup!

He produced a slashing run at Wyong over 1350m at his latest outing and is ready to win.

The Testa Rossa gelding strips fitter after his recent outing, and he has raced honestly at Canterbury in previous campaigns.

From a middle gate, I expect him to roll forward in search of the lead, and if he can find pole position uncontested, he will look the winner on straightening.

He needs to convert his consistent efforts into victories!

Gigi Fille can run well on debut.

The All Too Hard filly has trialled well and looks to have plenty of natural talent.

How she handles her first day at the races could decide her fate.

It may pay dividends to watch for any significant market support.

QUADDIE

Q

$84 for 50%

Kapakiri is our standout selection in the opening leg of the quaddie.

The Kermadec colt produced an eye-catching performance fresh, and he looks poised to strike second-up from a spell.

I am happy to stay out of the middle legs, while our best bet, Flashing Steel can finish the day on a winning note for favourite punters.

Best of luck!
