Best Bet - Moonee Valley Race 4

Unflinching $2.70

Unflinching is flying at present.

The I Am Invincible gelding produced an impressive win last start at the track, and he looks well-placed to trouble the scorer again.

The apprentice claim could prove a winning move, and his record at the track and distance must be respected.

With even luck from a middle gate, I expect the big boy to be fighting out the finish.

Starry Legend can peak here third-up from a spell.

The inside draw looks advantageous, and the Zoustar gelding has run well previously at Moonee Valley.

If he lands on top of the speed in the early stages, he will look the winner on straightening.

Lady Solly comes into all winning conversations with her undefeated second-up record.

She loves the track, and she is a 955m specialist.

Lady Adelaide $5.00

Lady Adelaide will relish the 1600m at this stage of her preparation.

She was a brilliant winner two starts back, and she lost no admires at Sandown at her latest outing.

Ethan Brown will have options from a middle gate, and I expect her to be in the finish with even luck.

Cable De Vega is a mare in form after two impressive wins.

The step-up to Benchmark 70 is her biggest test to date. However, she looks talented with plenty of upside.

The wide barrier is the primary concern.

No Secret will start favourite despite rising sharply in weight.

He was given a perfect ride last start, and if he gets a similar run in transit, he will be thereabouts again.

Best Roughie - Moonee Valley Race 2

7

Russian Dancer $16/$4.00

Russian Dancer looks over the odds after an eye-catching first-up run.

He should strip fitter here, and his second-up record must be respected.

The Impending gelding usually runs well at the trip, and I expect him to be hitting the line hard on Friday night.

Warm Smile will start favourite after a pleasing return from a spell.

It was her first run in Australia for the Maher and Eustace camp, and the 1600m looks advantageous for the New Approach mare.

Being second-up after a long spell is the primary concern.

Ivan’s Hero will have supporters after producing two impressive runs this preparation.

At his latest outing, he broke the Kilmore track record and looked to improve further.

QUADDIE

Q

$60 for 50%

After a luckless second-up run, Alverdun is our standout selection in the first leg of the quaddie.

He looked like the winner last start, and I expect him to redeem himself on Friday night.

We have gone wide in the middle legs before banking on Pretty Tavi in the final event of the day.

Best of luck!
