A genuine star on the rise is Mepunga Ruby as she attempts to make it four wins in a row and career win number 13 under trainer Jeffrey Britton.
She has won 11 of her last 15 starts, but it it this current patch of form over the last month that has stamped her as the next gun stayer of the Australian greyhound racing.
Her win the heat in of this $35,500 Top Cat Video Cup Final was that of a dog with serious talent.
She got severely checked near the final bend at The Meadows over 725 metres, but some how found a way to regain her momentum and avoid the ensuing chaos in front of her to score a miraculous.
Still trying to figure out exactly how she won, but she gets all the favours from box one.
Expecting her to start odds-on and closer to the $1.60-$1.70 when they jump.

Mepunga Warrior $2
Another Jeffrey Britton dog appears as one of our best for the night this time in the form of Mepunga Warrior.
He is a greyhound that clearly prefers being drawn inside after his last two efforts – when jumping from wide boxes – resulted in him being defeated.
His record from box one reads six starts for four wins and a minor placing.
He should be able to get the desired run through on the rail and be the one to beat in this race.
The Meadows Best Roughie - Race 5

Aston Lavina has used a 350-metre Healesville straight race to get ready for this 525-metre G5 affair.
Trainer Jessica Sharp used this a training tactic last month when she gave her a 300-metre tick over run at Healesville which helped her win over this course and distance on September 1.
That victory at The Meadows, albeit not in the greatest time, was done so by did thrashing her opposition.
Happy to be with with this greyhound on an each-way basis given the success Sharp had with this training technique.
