Fortunate Kiss $3.8

Making a case for Fortunate Kiss here after her super resuming win at Warracknabeal over 1000 metres.

Warrnambool based trainer Daniel Bowman sent this filly to the bush to break her maiden after a nice debut effort behind the very talented Enthaar.

The way she swept around the field at Warracknabeal and sustained her run from a long way shows the stamina she has should be enough to run out a stront 1300-metre event in town .

She is a filly off a last start win and is actually undefetaed this preparation if you count both of her jump outs.

Looks as though she has furnished into a strong horse and she gets favours on the map here which should see her land in the lead or one pair back.

Decent Raine $4

The three-year-old filly Decent Raine returns to the short-course of 1000 metres after sticking on well behind a very intelligent filly called Zouzarella.

That race was over 1200 metres, but the 1000-metre set up here looks much better with the likely hot early speed in this race.

She is a filly that has a better sustained sprint than most of the horses in this field.

John Allen jumps with her from barrier three and he should be able to find a midfield spot with cover to keep this girl within striking distance.

She has a very sharp 1000-metre win in her repertoire which occurred first-up this preparation at Echuca when bolting in by five lengths.

If she can repeat that, or at the very least, run up to that effort, she will very hard to beat here.

Best Roughie - Race 5

Mariamia $13/$3.7

Mariamia flies when she races fresh having had three first-up runs for two victories.

This 1000-metre assignment looks the perfect way to kickstart her preparation.

The five-year-old are draws the perfect barrier which will allow her to find a midfield or on-pace position and peel out into the golden wide lanes of the Hillside.

Her most recent first-up victory was in BM-70 level at Moonee Valley when winning as a $20 shot over 1000 metres.

We get a similar price to here to see if she can replicate that Moonee Valley run.
