Sandown Hillside July 14th, Tips and Previews

Race 1

Antifragile

Antifragile is an interesting resuming runner for Peter Moody. The two-year-old filly was well tried on debut being $5 into $3.5 but just found the going a little tough at Cranbourne. Moody tipped her out after that run and she looks to have come back a better horse. Gets the suck run and can run well at each-way odds.

Race 3

2

Choisir Lane

Very keen to back Choisir Lane first-up from a spell. She showed plenty of ability at her first career when winning at 1400 metres in maiden grade. Mick Price & Michael Kent Jnr. spelled her immediately and must have an eye on some stakes races prior to the big races in the spring kicking off. Damien Oliver is in the saddle and we expect a winning start to her preparation.

Race 4

8

Palumbo

Expecting Palumbo to put in a much improved performance at long odds after a lacklustre first-up effort. She was specked each-way but just got too far back and struggled to make up ground on the favourite who had control of the front. The four-year-old has raced in harder company than what she faces today and comes up big odds.

Race 5

11

November Dreaming

November Dreaming is becoming a nightmare for punters but she can bounce back. She started a $2.7 elect when sporting the blinkers for the first time and just resented being out on the track last start. She finished four lengths off leader and eventual winner Zimowy. The longer straight and softer ground at Sandown should see her improve out of sight.

Race 7

9

Kuzco Lad

Kuzco Lad needs control of the front to be at his best and he looks to get that here. He was six weeks between trial and race day prior to being restrained and never looking a winning hope first-up at Sandown Lakeside. He did finish last but was only beaten four lengths. The four-year-old gelding has been freshened up since that run and the rise in distance is what he is after.
