A-League MW 23, Tips and Previews

Macarthur FC vs Central Coast Mariners

27th May

A big clash between two teams looking to secure themselves the best possible spot for finals. The Mariners form has been pretty inconsistent of late and that cast some doubt over whether they can perform here.

Macarthur won well last time out and they will be thrilled to be in Campbelltown Stadium for this massive clash. Matt Derbyshire has netted 14 goals in 25 games and he is a good bet for anytime goalscorer.

The Mariners have to find their best and need to be able to produce it on repeat as they head towards finals. This is the perfect game to get themselves back into form.

Having said that Macarthur FC have been able to produce that continuity more recently and that’s why I will have my money with them.

SUGGESTED BET:

Bulls Win @ $3.17

Western United vs Melbourne Victory

28th May

The quicker the season is over the better it will be for both of these teams, Maybe more so for the Melbourne Victory.

Both sides are crawling to the finish line and getting some heavy defeats along the way. The Victory have committed to the kids for the remainder of the season and while it’s good to see it does make them a tough betting prospect.

The kids try hard but they are inconsistent and you do really not know what you’re going to get from them night-to-night.

Alessandro Diamanti is the key figure in this one. While his teammates struggle to find the back of the net it may only take one piece of pure magic from the United captain to open the game up.

Purely because of Diamanti’s ability to change the game I want to be with United.

SUGGESTED BET:

United Win @ $2.46

Adelaide vs Sydney

29th May

Adelaide need wins as the finals draw near. They aren’t locked away in the top six just yet and this is a tough test on the way to finals.

Sydney on the other hand are locked away in the top 2 and ready for yet another tilt at a title. There’s no doubt the need to win is deeper for Adelaide United than it is Sydney FC.

It’s a game littered with star attacking talent and that talent is headlined by Adam Le Fondre who scores goals at will. Sydney’s and Le Fondre’s recent form bodes well for goals in this game.

Both teams like to attack and focus their game style on getting the ball into the back of the net. United though have just as leaky a defence as they do a lethal attack and that leaky defence is what gives Sydney a clear edge.

SUGGESTED BET:

Total Goals Over 2.5 @ $1.56

Western Sydney vs Brisbane

30th May

The Wanderers are another team that have fallen short of expectations this season. They have had a disappointing campaign.

Meanwhile Brisbane have it all to play for in a season when many thought they’d have much worse fortunes. They are battling it out for a top six spot and look the most likely to secure that spot on current form.

Western Sydney’s haven’t impressed through any point of this season and have looked disinterested at times and a team whose effort is questionable is not one I want my money on.

Brisbane work hard for each other and give their everything every time they set foot on the pitch. I don’t mind the Roar despite the game being across the border and I’m happy to back them in.

SUGGESTED BET:

DRAW @ $3.7
