Another Wil $4.60

Another Wil resumes after a brilliant autumn campaign.

His win in the C.F. Orr Stakes was first-class, and he was game in defeat for the remainder of his preparation.

The Street Boss gelding is a track and distance specialist who traditionally motors fresh.

His recent jump-outs leading into his first-up assignment oozed class, and I suspect he will receive the run of the race from a soft inside draw.

If he finds clear air as heads turn for home, the fat lady will be in full voice before he enters the final furlong.

The one to beat!

Treasurethe Moment is a star.

The Alabama Express mare is building an impressive career record, and her will to win is simply special.

The give in the track will suit the talented four-year-old, and there has been a tsunami of money for her since acceptances were finalised.

Taking on Australia’s best weight-for-age campaigners over an unsuitable distance is her biggest challenge.

It may pay dividends to follow her moving forward, regardless of the result on Saturday.

Zarastro $4.00

Zarastro arrives in Melbourne up and about after producing a near Group 1 winner performance in the Kingsford Smith Cup.

The I Am Invincible gelding boasts form around the talented Joliestar, and I suspect his residual fitness from his Brisbane winter campaign gives him a competitive advantage.

The big boy looks well placed at this level, and he caught the eyes recently with a seriously impressive barrier trial victory.

A wet track plays into his favour, and he will look the winner on straightening if he can find the bunny uncontested early doors.

Major player!

Airman is over the odds.

The enigmatic six-year-old has form around some serious gallopers, and if he is fully wound up for his first-up assignment, he may prove too sharp over the short course.

His autumn campaign was slightly disappointing compared to his usual lofty standards, and I suspect he will appreciate the significant drop in class.

Trials have been rock-solid in preparation for Saturday’s Group 3 event, and I expect his quote to shorten significantly before the barriers open.

In the mix!

Best Roughie - Caulfield Race 2

Hazel Baby $11.00/$3.00

Hazel Baby can run a drum at a double-figure quote.

The fifteen-dollar opening price disappeared quicker than Raygun’s social media presence, and I suspect she will thrive in this company after a dominant last-start victory in a lower grade.

The Toronado mare should be rock-hard fit after lengthy campaign, and she finds her pet distance on Saturday.

Her record with the sting out of the ground puts her into all winning calculations, and the Ciaron Maher polish must be respected.

Over the odds!

On Display will have plenty of supporters on resumption after producing a stellar autumn campaign.

The Fastnet Rock mare finished her preparation with a victory in the Adelaide Guineas, and I suspect the camp have some dizzy spring goals penciled in.

Her record fresh is sound, and recent trials indicate she may be forward enough to threaten first-up over an unsuitable distance.

Classy runner who I would prefer to support over further and deeper into her spring racing.

QUADDIE

Q

$90 for 100%

We have gone extremely wide in a very competitive edition of the Heath 1100.

Nothing would surprise, and it could be a delicious start to the quaddie.

A handful of runners gain a gurnsey in the Cockram Stakes, while I expect Another Wil and Treasurethe Moment to battle it out in a stunning edition of the Memsie Stakes.

The progressive Sepals will determine our fate in the final event on the program.

Best of luck!
