Empress Zou $2.80

Empress Zou is flying!

The Zoustar mare is chasing a hattrick of wins, and she looks poised to peak third-up over the 1450m.

She displayed a devastating turn of foot at her latest outing, and a repeat performance would see her figure in the finish.

Barrier ten is the primary concern.

Rhythm Is A Dancer is another galloper in career-best form.

The Sir Prancealot gelding is chasing four consecutive wins, and he looks well placed with the 3kg apprentice claim.

He can drift back from the middle gate, and if he can stay in touch with the leaders throughout, he may blow them away late.

Remorseless is a must for multiples and broader exotics.

The Written Tycoon gelding should get the run of the race, and he is too consistent to leave out of winning conversations.

Journalism $5.50

Journalism can take out the feature event, the 2023 Muswellbrook Cup.

The I Am Invincible gelding was a brilliant winner at Randwick last start, and he looks ready to peak on Friday.

He should be rock-hard fit at this stage of the preparation, and the 1500m is his pet distance.

He will make his own luck on top of the speed and may prove hard to run down if left to his own devices.

Hosier will start favourite after taking the country scene by storm last preparation.

The Kris Lees-trained Camelot gelding has had three teasing trials leading into this event, and his fresh record speaks for itself.

From barrier one, he should get the run of the race, and if the predicated rain lobs, he may be unstoppable.

Despite drawing the carpark, Gem Song can be thereabouts.

The Your Song gelding was brilliant fresh at Newcastle, and his second-up record is exceptional.

The now seven-year-old is versatile and looks well-placed back at country level.

The 62kg is the primary concern.

Innervoice $14/$3.80

Innervoice looks over the odds after an eye-catching first-up performance.

She strips fitter, and her second-up record must be respected.

The Poet’s Voice mare will appreciate the step out to 1280m, and she is well placed at Benchmark 58 level.

The awkward barrier is the biggest obstacle.

Takara Star will start favourite after a last-start win at the track.

The last 600m was blistering, and she deserves her shot at this grade.

She will roll forward from the wide gate, and they won’t get past her if she gets an easy time out in front.

Bodgie from the Paul Perry stable looks over the odds.

He hit the line nicely at Gosford last start, and he should appreciate the drop in grade.

Barrier three is advantageous; if the gaps appear at the top of the straight, he can figure in the finish.

Ice In Vancouver may determine our quaddie hopes and dreams in the second leg.

The Vancouver gelding usually flies fresh, and his trial leading into this event will have him cherry ripe for a first-up tilt.
