Best Bet - Sandown Race 2

Shuffle Dancer $3.50

Shuffle Dancer is having an ultra-consistent preparation.

The I Am Invincible filly should be undefeated this campaign, and she looks well placed here.

Her form around Wrote To Arataki reads extremely well for this event, and she deserves her shot at this grade.

The recent barrier trial will have her cherry ripe for Saturday.

The wide barrier draw is the primary concern.

Laced Up Heels will have supporters despite the awkward barrier draw.

Her second-up record speaks for itself, and she strips fitter after her recent outing.

1400m is advantageous, and she will be savaging the line late.

Steel City $4.20

I am very bullish about Steel City in the day’s feature event.

The Merchant Navy filly has a blistering turn of foot, and she boasts form around the Golden Slipper favourite, Learning To Fly.

She looked stiff last start, and she should get the run of the race from a middle gate.

1200m looks ideal at this stage of her preparation, and with even luck, I expect her to be in the finish.

Barber will have plenty of market support after a resilient on-pace win at the track last start.

He remains undefeated, and the Exceed And Excel colt can continue on his winning ways with the good run in transit.

The 1200m is unknown, and I am still determining where he will land in the run.

Midnight Blue $9/$3.50

Midnight Blue looked great in two recent barrier trials.

The So You Think gelding has run well first-up previously, and I am sure he is ready to fire fresh for his new stable.

He could pinch a break on his more fancied rivals with most of the field resuming.

Right You Are is a winning machine.

He has won his last three races comfortably and looks well placed here with 54kg.

The 2100m is ideal for this stage of his campaign, and he is drawn ideally in barrier five.

This is his most challenging test to date.

High Emocean is a must for wider exotics.

If The Melbourne Cup placegetter can stay in touch with the leaders early, she can run into a minor placing.

QUADDIE

Q

$120 for 20%

We have gone extremely wide in our quaddie legs.

It is a fantastic and competitive racing card, and I expect some blow-out results.

Several favourites on the program look incredibly skinny in the market.
