NFL Week 8, Tips and Previews

Buccaneers vs. Ravens

October 28th

Writing off Tom Brady is like capturing a snake and putting it in the bathroom – you just know it will come back to bite you.

But Brady’s season, and by extension Tampa Bay’s, has been underwhelming, to say the least. It doesn’t help that he hasn’t had the o-line protection or receiving options he is used to, but he is the Quarterback, and quite literally, the Bucs stop with him.

A loss to Carolina last week seemed to confirm to many that the 46-year-old might be just about done, but he has proven his doubters wrong in the past, and there is no better stage to do it than Thursday night football.

Against an exciting Baltimore outfit, Tampa Bay is likely to struggle again. Lamar Jackson threw just nine complete passes last week, but the Ravens still managed a win over Cleveland.

Gus Edwards led the running game and should get plenty of reps again this week.

SUGGESTED BET:

Baltimore -2.5 at $2.21

Bills vs. Packers

October 31st

While Tom Brady doubters grow, there are just as many thinking his long-time rival Aaron Rodgers could be at the end of his tether, at least at Green Bay.

It’s been a poor season for the Packers, and Rodgers’ output has matched that of the rest of the team. He’s seemed indecisive, aloof and just simply hasn’t been impactful.

With that in mind, there is no worse team to be up against than the 5-1 Bills. Coming out of a bye week ranked first in both offense and defense, Buffalo is the team to beat for the Superbowl this week.

Josh Allen is in white hot form both in the air and on the ground, while Von Miller has well and truly taken charge of a relentless defensive team. If Rodgers has found himself under pressure so far this season, that will not compare to the pressure he will get with Miller in his face.

SUGGESTED BET:

Bills first team to score at $1.50

Browns vs. Bengals

November 1st

The Bengals are back, and the league has taken notice. A thumping win over the Falcons last week has Cincinatti’s swagger back.

Ja’mar Chase was exceptional last week, catching everything in sight. Throw in Tyler Boyd, who also produced a massive game, and Joe Burrow has some of the best talent at his disposal when looking down the field.

Cleveland is yet to find any real rhythm this year, and while Jacoby Brisett has been OK at Quarterback, he doesn’t have the poise and ability to create damage that some of the more prominent names in the league have.

Cincinnati should win this battle with the AFC North rivals.

SUGGESTED BET:

Bengals -3.5 at $1.91

Rams vs. 49ers

October 31st

The NFC West is wide open, and while both Los Angeles and San Francisco have been inconsistent this season, a win here could be a considerable kickstart to guide their way to a playoff berth.

Having only played against each other four weeks ago, both teams are very familiar with each other, and San Francisco has a genuine edge, having secured the victory in September.

Cooper Kupp has been the main target for Matt Stafford this season but possibly so much that it has become predictable. The close-checking San Francisco D will have Kupp in their sights, but he could get off the chain and go big.

The Niners’ have a new-look offense thanks to the recent trade bringing in Christian McCaffrey. After one game with his team and a full week of learning, training, and plays, expect McCaffrey’s output to improve on last week’s, but with Deebo Samuel under an injury cloud, the ledger moves ever so slightly to the Rams.

SUGGESTED BET:

Total score under 42.5 at $1.93
