Best Bet - Race 4

Robert The Puss $2.4

Robert The Puss should be breaking ripping off his maiden tag today.

The Matthew Ellerton and Simon Zahra-trained three-year-old gelding was horrifically unlucky at Wangaratta last start when running up behind a wall of horses with no where to go.

He now draws out in a wide gate for this maiden over 1600 metres and that is going to enhance his chances by allowing him to stretch his legs in full stride rather than be waiting for a run down on the inside and having his momentum halted.

We are yet to really see what this gelding has to offer and today will be the day we really what is under the bonnet.

Next Best - Race 2

Barnsbury $4

Should have won her debut race if not for a riderless horse which hindered her chances.

The four-year-old mare was pestered the whole way up the straight and throughout the run before launching at the finish post to just miss out on a victory.

Her turn of foot is what is going to seperate her from the opposition today and she will be allowed to use it to full effect provided she is not annoyed by the unlikely probability of a rouge runner.

Teodore Nugent will find a perfect spot for her in the run from barrier five and with the form he is in, expect this be a winning run.

Best Roughie - Race 9

The Great Bratski $12/$3

The Great Bratski does her best racing at Moe and finds much more suitable race for her ability than she did when racing first-up from a spell.

She resumed in BM-64 grade over 1200 metres on a soft track and was left a little bit flat footed in the latter stages of the race.

The drop back in grade to a much easier BM-58 race as well as favourable speed map that sees her likely settling in the lead will allow her to control this race.

Last time she raced in BM-58 grade she was considered a $4 elect and had to carry 63.5kgs.

Now she carries 3.5kgs less and is triple the price – she has to be a bet at the double figure odds.

QUADDIE

Q

$112.50 for 100%

A heavy track at Moe might throw this quaddie into disarray.

It will be interesting to see where the runners and winners come from in the run.

Moe can usually advantage horses who skirt down the outside railing in the straight, so we will be sure to include horses that have drawn very barriers.

Leg 1: 1, 2, 6, 8, 10
Leg 2: 7, 11, 12
Leg 3: 1, 2, 7
