Caulfield July 24th, Tips and Previews

Best Bet - Race 4

1

La Mexicana $3.5

Doing the rain dance for La Mexicana and looks as through our prayers will be answered with showers forecast for Melbourne.

She is an absolute duck and loves racing when there is any sting out of the ground.

Her record on wet tracks is absolutely impeccable with four starts registering three wins.

She is undefeated at Caulfield as well and gets the services of Jamie Kah to guide her around the track.

Happy to have a punt at the price despite the 60kgs.

Next Best - Race 6

4

Capricon Ridge $4.6

Firmly in the camp of Capricorn who looks primed to run a career best race stepping to 2400 metres.

He glided through the wet conditions at Ballarat with no problems whatsoever to win by six lengths after whipping around the field bounding away from rivals.

The most impressive thing about the win is that he was not slowing down stride well after the post and if anything, he was extending his margin.

He is a big base of residual fitness which is a big advantage over Murrumbidgee River.

Best Roughie - Race 5

20

Kuzco Lad $21/$6

Hoping Kuzco Lad gets a run in this race because he will be in it up to his eyeballs at long odds.

His first two runs this preparation have actually been much better than what the form guide suggests.

Last start at Sandown he was unable to get control of the lead and had to take his medicine by easing out of the hot speed battle up front.

He was shuffled out three wide before the bend and did a good job to stick on for fourth.

This race opens up for him nicely on the speed map with Jittery Jack the only likely horse to challenge him for the lead.

QUADDIE

Q

$100 for 16%

This is going to be a very tricky quaddie given we do not know exactly how the track will play with the forecast wet weather.

Going to play this a bit wide and outlay a bit more cash to get that percentage up.

Leg 1: 1, 4, 6, 7, 10
Leg 2: 2, 4, 5, 8, 11
Leg 3: 2, 3, 4, 8, 9
Leg 4: 5, 6, 8, 12, 14

Outlay: $100
Flexi percentage = 16%
