King Colorado $6.50
King Colorado caught the eye first-up.
The Kingman colt still hasn’t seen daylight, and he was a good thing licked in a hot form race.
From barrier nine, he can drift back and find his hooves, and if he is within striking distance as they run for the judge, I expect him to prove too strong late.
A strong performance here would rocket him to outright Caulfield Guineas favourite.
Hard to toss!
Cylinder will have supporters after producing two impressive victories this campaign.
The Exceed And Excel colt won from an impossible position second-up, and I suspect a peak performance for the campaign is on the cards on Saturday.
From barrier six, he will roll forward and sit on top of the speed, and if he is left to his own devices throughout, the fat lady could be singing a long way from home.

Waterford $3.10
Waterford savaged the line in his return to racing.
He produced sizzling late sectionals and put the writing on the wall for a monster second-up performance.
The Awtaad gelding finds his pet distance, and his second-up record is delicious.
From barrier eight, he will drift back and watch the race unfold, and if he doesn’t get too far out of his ground during the middle stages, I expect him to gobble up his rivals late.
Cepheus will have supporters after an ultra-consistent preparation.
The Sea The Stars gelding strips fitter; he deserves his shot at this level.
He will sit in the box seat from barrier two, and if he sees daylight at the right time, he can win.
The class rise is his acid test!

Tristate $9.00/$3.00
Tristate is ready to sprout wings over 1100m.
His fresh record is rock-solid, and he looks well-placed in this company.
From the wide gate, he will roll forward and pilot the field, and if he can pinch some cheap sectionals throughout, he will give a good sight.
He has been well-specked at a price in early betting, and I suspect the money will continue until the barriers open.
Over the odds!
Xtravagant Star could be the real deal.
Both runs this campaign have been first-class, and I expect further natural improvement during the preparation.
If the Xtravagant mare can overcome the carpark draw, she can continue on her winning ways.
The class rise is the primary concern.
QUADDIE
Q
$95 for 25%
Cepheus, Waterford, and Williamsburg are the likely suspects in the opening leg of the quaddie.
All are racing well and have been heavily supported since markets opened.
Shinzo, Cylinder, King Colorado, Encap, Nadal, and Charm Stone will fight out the feature event of the day, the Group 1 Golden Rose, while we have gone extremely wide in the penultimate event.
Cavalier Charles, Mogo Magic, and Tristate will be front and centre in the lucky last!
