Best Bet - Belmont Race 7

7

Aztec Ruler $4.40

Aztec Ruler was brilliant fresh.

He chased home a smart one, and the form out of the race has stood up since.

From gate three, he should get the run of the race, and if he sees daylight in time, I expect him to fight out the finish.

The appointment of the in-form Chris Parnham could prove the winning difference, and I suspect the money will come late in betting for the Universal Ruler gelding.

Planet Cash will have supporters after a near-faultless campaign to date.

Both runs have been full of merit, and the step out to 1400m plays in his favour.

He is ready to peak, and with even luck in transit, he can continue on his winning ways.

The step up in class is his biggest test.

Crescent City $4.80

Crescent City is flying!

The Fiorente gelding is racing in career-best form, and he should get the run of the race jumping from barrier two.

I suspect the rising six-year-old will stalk the speed, and if the big boy can angle off the rail at the right time, he can gobble up his rivals in the shadows.

The 3kg apprentice claim brings him into all winning conversations, and he has been well-supported since markets opened.

This is his acid test!

Vast Art is building the picket fence next to his name.

The Flying Artie gelding has won five out of his last six races, and he looks well placed meeting similar opposition.

The grandstand weight and carpark draw are his biggest challenges!

Best Roughie - Belmont Race 2

2

Pin Deep $9.00/$2.60

Pin Deep is ready to win.

The Deep Field colt is coming off a string of narrow defeats, and he finds a winnable race on Saturday.

The 3kg apprentice claim gives him the upper hand on his rivals, and if he can find some cover from the middle draw, I expect him to prove too strong late.

He has raced well at Belmont, and the 1000m is in his wheelhouse.

Hard to toss!

Sapphire Street will start favourite after snatching defeat from the jaws of victory at his latest outing.

There has been a flood of money for the Street Boss filly, and with William ‘The Wizard’ Pike aboard, she may start the shortest price commodity of the meeting.

From barrier three, she will camp on the leaders’ back, and if she can rail like a greyhound on straightening, she will figure in the finish.

QUADDIE

Q

$84 for 100%

Vast Art and Crescent City look to have the first leg of the quaddie between them.

Both are flying this preparation, and I expect them to fight out the finish.

Our best bet Aztec Ruler, can win the second leg, while Demolish, Upper Limits, and Ihts Closing Inn will battle it out in the penultimate event.

The last leg looks more open than a tiny can of tuna!

Leg 1: 1, 2
Leg 2: 7
Leg 3: 1, 2, 5
Leg 4: Field

Outlay: $84
Flexi Percentage = 100%
