Hawaii Five Oh $5.00

Hawaii Five Oh has a sense of timing about him.

His win two starts back in the Hawkesbury Guineas was arrogant, and he lowered the colours of the near undefeated Yellow Brick at his latest outing in the Fred Best.

He can box seat from barrier three, and if he can stay out of the predicated speed battle, he will figure in the finish.

The 49.5kg will give him every chance to run out a strong 1400m, and I expect him to look the winner at the 200m.

Think About It is a winning machine.

He beat an all-star field to win the Kingsford Smith Cup last start, and he looks incredibly hard to toss here meeting similar opposition.

I am unsure where he will land in transit from the wide barrier, and I am not convinced this was his original target for the preparation.

Can he peak again?

Tannhauser $5.50

Tannhauser turned heads last start at Randwick.

The Dundeel colt savaged the line from a minute back, and he broke all clocks on course in the process.

The Chris Waller-trained two-year-old will eat up every inch of the 1600m and is ready to produce a peak performance for the campaign.

James Mcdonald will attract further market support, and from barrier six, I expect the big boy to get every chance to taste Group 1 glory on Saturday.

Hard to toss!

King Colorado can run a drum at a big price.

The Kingman colt was an impressive winner last start at Kembla Grange, and the step out to the mile is advantageous.

From barrier three, I expect the Maher and Eustace trained galloper to roll forward and take up his favourite position as race leader, and if they give him a mid-race breather, he could look the winner on straightening.

Over the odds!

Roots $15.00/$4.60

Roots looks poised to strike first-up from a spell.

The Press Statement mare has produced two teasing barrier trials leading into this event, and her fresh record is near perfect.

From barrier two, she can sit on the leaders back, and if James Mcdonald angles the big girl out at the right time, she is a genuine threat.

Her record at the distance must be respected, and she is versatile enough to overcome any difficulties in transit.

Opal Ridge will start favourite after a stunning win at Scone.

The Rubick filly looks promising, and she can take the next step in her career on Saturday.

Barrier twelve makes her assignment slightly harder, and her chances will diminish if she is left posted in the early stages.

The short quote is one for the thrill seekers!

QUADDIE

Think About It, Cardinal Gem, and Hawaii Five Oh, will fly the flag for the punters in Stradbroke Handicap. At the same time, Roots, Revolutionary Miss, Opal Ridge, and Ekaterina will fight out the Dane Ripper.
