Best Bet - Morphettville Race 8

Loco $2.70
Loco has been impressive in his three career starts to date.
The So You Think gelding won well on debut before chasing a few smart ones at his latest outings.
From barrier five, Damien “The Goat” Oliver can have the big boy midfield with cover, and if he presents him at the right time, I expect him to prove too strong late.
Being untested at 2000m is the primary concern.
Suizuro has been absolutely smashed since markets opened.
The Real Impact gelding has been racing well this preparation, and he boasts form around some serious gallopers.
He will roll forward from barrier one, and if he catches them napping through the middle stages, the race could be over on straightening.
The length of his campaign is the biggest concern.

Affaire A Suivre $6.50
Despite jumping from the carpark, Affaire A Suivre can play a role in the day’s feature event.
The Astern filly has put two impressive wins together, and she was home and hosed at the furlong in the Port Adelaide Guineas.
The 2000m is advantageous; she has already beaten most of the field.
She’s Fit is another one that the barrier draw has cruelled.
The Pride Of Dubai filly is enjoying a great start to her career, including a win in the Group 1 Western Australian Oaks.
She was competitive in the Western Australian Derby and looks very versatile.
I am unsure can produce another peak run for her campaign.

Extra Mile $9/$2.80
Extra Mile was butchered last start.
The backmarker was ridden on top of the speed and was courageous in defeat.
From a middle gate, he can drift back when the barriers open, and if he gets the required tempo for swoopers to figure, I expect him to make his presence felt.
He is racing in great spirit, and he looks excellent each-way value.
Queman will start favourite despite being beaten last start at a short quote.
The Mint Lane gelding overraced throughout, and he spent his pennies before the concluding stages.
He meets similar opposition and can bounce back if he brings his best behaviour.
His inconsistency is the primary concern.
QUADDIE
Q
$96 for 50%
Long Arm looks hard to beat in the Port Adelaide Cup, and I am happy to have him one out in the opening leg of the quaddie.
The Rock Of Gibraltar gelding won well last start, and he can go on with it on Saturday.
Our best bet, Loco, may determine our quaddie hopes and dreams in the second leg, while we have gone extremely wide in the last two events of the day looking for value.
Best of luck!
