NRL Best Bets, April 27

Brisbane Broncos vs. South Sydney

Head-To-Head

To state the bleedingly obvious, how do we get the 7-1 number-one seeds at $2.05? We’re not complaining; we’ll take it.

Granted, the Rabbitohs have been outstanding over the past three rounds, but the Broncos have continued to do what they’ve needed to with wins against the Eels (10 points) and the Titans (17) away from home.

While Payne Haas, Corey Oates and Ezra Mam are the notable omissions, Jesse Arthars will return to the wing alongside the inclusion of Jock Madden and Keenan Palasia.

They will undoubtedly need the assistance of a vocal home crowd to will them over the line, but the value is simply too good to ignore.

Suggested Bet:

Brisbane Broncos to win at $2.05

Parramatta Eels vs. Newcastle Knights

Handicap

The 12th-placed Knights have been the victim of missed opportunities over the past two weeks, with losses to Penrith and North Queensland by a total of just three points.

Before this, they had a 10-point win over the Warriors, a draw against an in-form Sea Eagles and a decisive victory over the Raiders. They’re a decent side playing luckless football. Dane Gagai, Greg Marzhew and Dominic Young are consistently performing, and it’s only a matter of time before Adam O’Brien finds the right formula.

CommBank Stadium hasn’t exactly been a fortress for Parramatta this season, with a 2-3 record making this, if not winnable for the Knights, a lot closer than the market suggests.

Suggested Bet:

Newcastle Knights (+7.5) at $1.90

Cronulla Sharks vs. North Queensland

Anytime Scorer

Cronulla’s fullback, William Kennedy, had a game to remember against Canterbury, with a hat-trick in the opening 22 minutes of the game.

He currently ranks second behind just Maika Sivo with nine tries from his seven games, scoring in five of those.

If $1.91 as an anytime try scorer isn’t good enough, the Sharks star has already run over the line for the opening try on three occasions this year, making the $8.50 on offer very appealing.

Suggested Bet:

W. Kennedy anytime try scorer at $1.91

Penrith Panthers vs. Wests Tigers

Same Game Multi

There’s no two ways about it; we’re expecting a blowout of epic proportions as the Tigers try to tame a Panthers outfit coming off just their third loss of the season.

The last time this happened, Nathan Cleary and his chargers put on a clinic against the Canberra Raiders, demolishing the home side by 41 points with nine tries to two, including seven in the second half.

While there’s little value in the head-to-head markets, we’ve compiled a four-legged same-game multi that we believe presents excellent value and high likelihood ahead of one of the most one-sided games we could see all season.

  • Leg 1: Penrith to win 13+
  • Leg 2: Over 43.5 total points
  • Leg 3: B. To’o to score 2+
  • Leg 4: 2nd half highest scoring
  • Total: $8.50

Suggested Bet:

Same Game Multi
