NRL Tips and Previews, April 13-14

Dolphins vs. South Sydney

April 13th

Have the Rabbitohs found their winning formula again?

South Sydney returned to level pegging at 3-3 last week as they hit their straps with a dominant 34-point victory over the Canterbury Bulldogs. Everyone contributed for the Souths as they piled on nine tries to three, with Latrell Mitchell starring and Campbell Graham driving home a hat-trick in the second half. They only serve to get better with Alex Johnston returning alongside Jai Arrow.

If the Bunnies are drinking from the fountain of victory again, so too are the Dolphins, who upset the North Queensland Cowboys with a 10-point win in Townsville. Jamayne Isaako delivered a masterclass with a treble, while Jeremy Marshall-King went next level with 41 tackles.

Both sides will be shoulders back and chests out this week, but it’s safe to say there’s a particular air of confidence about those Bunnies with the addition of Johnston and Arrow.

Suggested Bet:

L. Mitchell anytime try scorer at $1.91

Cronulla Sharks vs. Sydney Roosters

April 14th

One of the more even match-ups in the market pits the Cronulla Sharks against a Roosters outfit coming off a battering in their trip to Melbourne.

There’s no doubt the Roosters were missing James Tedesco, as they gave up 18 points to eight in the first half before going scoreless in the final 40. Teddy will return to fullback for this week’s game, allowing Joey Manu to return to the centres and the team to get back to what they do best.

The Sharks will be fresh after sitting out with the bye, with Wade Graham and Oregon Kaufusi returning to the squad. The Sharks were a mixed bag before the week off, with a decisive win over the Dragons followed by a loss to the Warriors.

It’s hard to see the Roosters dishing out a similar performance this week, making their $1.71 quote very enticing.

Suggested Bet:

Sydney Roosters to win at $1.71

Manly Sea Eagles vs. Melbourne Storm

April 14th

While one team starts to crumble, another announces itself as a genuine premiership threat with the Storm’s impressive 20-point victory over the Sydney Roosters.

It was a Thursday night performance to remember for the Storm as they blew their opposition away with three tries in the opening half and kept them scoreless after the 20-minute mark of the game. Xavier Coates was unstoppable with a hat-trick, while Cameron Munster ran for 209m and a try. Nick Meaney suffered concussion symptoms and will sit out, with Munster switching to fullback.

As for the Sea Eagles, their 2-0 start to the season has quickly become a thing of the past as they lost their second straight game against the Panthers to the tune of 32 points. Things could have been much worse when they entered the half-time break trailing 32-0.

Both sides are at either end of the form spectrum, which bodes well for the Storm as they look to make it five wins for the year.

Suggested Bet:

Melbourne Storm to win at $1.53
