Moonee Valley March 18th, Tips and Previews

Best Bet - Moonee Valley Race 1

1

Midwest $1.95

Midwest can get the punters off to a flying start in the day’s opening event!

He is knocking on the door, and this looks like his race to lose.

The drop back to 1000m is advantageous, and the form around Spacewalk speaks volumes.

His winning strike rate is the primary concern.

Sartorial Splendor can run a big race at a reasonable price.

The Brazen Beau gelding always runs well fresh, and his track and distance record must be respected.

He needs to turn his consistent form into winning form.

Scissor Step goes into all winning conversations.

He looks well placed from an inside draw, and I expect a bold showing for his new stable.

Next Best - Moonee Valley Race 5

2

Bois D'argent $4.40

Bois D’argent looks poised to strike from the plumb barrier draw.

The Toronado gelding has an exceptional first-up record; the mile is his pet distance.

His two barrier trials leading into this event were first-class, and he has been well-supported in early markets.

Previous international form is too good to dismiss.

Munhamek is racing well this preparation.

He should get the run of the race from barrier three, and if the gaps appear on straightening, he will be hard to hold out.

A long and arduous campaign is the primary concern.

Quality Time will have supporters with William Pike aboard.

Her recent barrier trial indicates a brazen first-up tilt.

Best Roughie - Moonee Valley Race 9

10

Ceerseven $11/$3.30

Ceerseven won impressively on debut.

The Complacent gelding was luckless second-up, and he looks well placed to make amends.

The 2000m is advantageous, and he deserves his shot at this level.

He is over the odds, and I expect a peak performance on Saturday.

Amenable will start favourite after nearly falling in the Australian Guineas.

The Lonhro colt will appreciate the step out in distance, and he should get a dream run from barrier two.

He always needs luck with his racing pattern, and I am still determining how he will handle The Valley!

Dunkel can run well despite drawing the car park.

The Dundeel gelding is building a picket fence next to his name, and I expect him to figure with even luck.

QUADDIE

Q

$67 for 10%

Alligator Blood and Mr Brightside are our standout selections in the first leg of the quaddie.

They both looked poised to strike in the All Star Mile, and I expect them to battle out the finish.

Paris Dior, My Bella Mae, and Parisal are our anchors in the second leg, while we have gone wide in the remaining events.

Best of luck!
