Best Bet - Rosehill Race 7

Lost And Running $2.50

In the next 12 months I expect Lost And Running to be the best sprinter in the country.

The big boy has a decisive turn of foot, he handles all conditions, and he would have gone close in The Everest.

Small setback is the concern, but if he is right, he wins this.

He had too much on them the last start despite looking short of a run in the yard.

Mazu is the obvious danger in a race of few chances.

Next Best - Rosehill Race 4

Hameron $3.20

Prepared to give Hameron another chance. He is starting to become expensive to follow; however, he has had excuses.

He was caught on the wrong part of the track in The Group 1 Metropolitan, and he was only found out late at the start prior.

He has had a lovely barrier trial leading into this, Hugh Bowman stays aboard, and he has drawn ideally in barrier 1.

He is dropping back to 1900m after the Metropolitan could prove to be a masterstroke.

Pink Ivory looks the danger from a good draw. She won impressively from the clouds two starts back.

Best Roughie - Rosehill Race 5

1

Classy Jaybee $10/$3

Classy Jaybee is over the odds here. He has been crying out for a dry track, and he might appreciate the soft conditions Saturday instead of the usual heavy tracks associated with Sydney racing in 2022.

Six weeks between runs is a concern. However, this is a very even affair, with nothing stamping itself as the one to beat.

William ‘The Wizard’ Pike takes the ride, barrier 1 is ideal, and there has been some good early market support.

Each way at the double-figure odds.

QUADDIE - Rosehill

Q

$60 for 20%

I am prepared to go very skinny early before coming home very wide. There could be some value late in the day.

Lost And Running and Light Infantry will determine our fate early. Anything could win the last two events.
