AFL Round 6, Tips and Previews

Dockers vs. Blues

April 23rd

The game of the round and one of the most anticipated games of the year.

Fremantle and Carlton bring their 4-1 records to Optus Stadium for a game that could really determine who is a genuine top four team.

The Blue Baggers might just have learnt what winning is all about under Michael Voss and the same can be said for the Dockers under Justin Longmuir.

The Purple Haze has structured up as good as any team this team and its defence has been a big foundation in their success to this point of the season.

Harry McKay and Charlie Curnow loom ominously on the dance-floor of Perth with the pair kicking 26 goals between them in the first round five rounds.

But the Dockers do have good match ups for both players with Alex Pearce and Brennan Cox the likely duo to take them.

Percentage is everything when the race of finals is as tight as it currently is and the Dockers have the percentage advantage over the Blues which highlights their ability to put a gap on opponents.

The second half fade outs are going to eventually cost the Blues dearly and it will probably come to fruition against the most in-form opposition they have faced this year.

SUGGESTED BET:

Fremantle -2.5 @ $1.90

Essendon vs. Collingwood

April 25th

The ANZAC Day showpiece is set for another chapter when long-time rivals Essendon and Collingwood find themselves battling it out at the MCG in Round 6.

The game probably comes at a perfect time for the Bombers who were absolutely horrendous against Fremantle and they get back their two guns in Jake Stringer and Zach Merrett.

An emotional and motivational lift is what Essendon needs, but Collingwood has been playing some good footy of late with the only blip on the radar being a shock loss against West Coast.

Collingwood does a little more trustworthy than Essendon at the moment.

Should be a cracking contest either way, but the Pies are the way to go.

SUGGESTED BET:

Pies -4.5 @ $1.90

Hawks vs. Swans

April 25th

Can Hawthorn make it two wins in a row or will the Swans welcome back Buddy with a bang?

This is a big game for both teams who have finals aspirations after five rounds.

The Hawks scored a big win over their old foes Geelong on Easter Monday, while the Swans slammed West Coast.

With young talent littered throughout both squads, it is going to be intriguing to see where these teams line up.

The game being played at UTAS gives Hawthorn a home-ground advantage away from home, so there has to be some respect paid to the brown and gold.

Hawthorn will be trying to implement its transition football which has seen them win three games this year, but Sydney will have the advantage in the midfield.

The Bloods with Franklin back in the fold is where we camp our bet.

SUGGESTED BET:

Swans -8.5 @ $1.90
