The return of five-year-old mare Quintello was a real eye-catcher.
She sprinted away brilliantly at Warracknabeal over 1200 metres to win her maiden by 4.5 lengths after showing a sparkling turn of foot.
She was eased down the line but took a while to be brought to a canter.
She clearly wanted to keep on running and she was sprinting away from her rivals well after the post to suggest the rise to 1300 metres will be perfect.
The mounting yard will be important for this mare; if she shows she has stripped fitter for the run then this race is at her mercy.

Mr Brightside $2
Mr Brightside is progressing through his grades beautifully this preparation.
The now four-year-old gelding for Ben & JD Hayes cantered in by just over four lengths to win his maiden race at Geelong two starts ago over 1400 metre and then progressed to town with a very smart win at Sandown Lakeside over 1600 metres.
The mile win saw him bolt in by three-and-a-half lengths and now drops half a kilo from that run with the rise in grade to BM-70 level.
Doubt he will be as dominant as he has been at his previous two starts, but barrier one will ensure he conserves plenty of energy in the run.

Lofty Heights $13/$3.5
Lofty Heights was beaten a long way Flemington last start, but he can atone for that performance.
He settled way too far back in the run after drawing a wide gate which forced jockey Beau Mertens to make a sustained from the 800-metre mark.
The seven-year-old gelding felt the pinch late in the run and faded to finish 11 lengths off the winner.
He finally draws a barrier where he does not have to settle so far back and we should see him return to somewhere near his best.
He does have a peak rating at this distance range that would test most of this field.
