Boomers vs. Italy, July 28th Tips and Previews

Boomers vs. Italy

July 28th

A tricky game ensues for the Boomers when they face the Italians with both nations coming into this with impressive wins to open up their Olympic campaigns.

The Boomers clamped Nigeria with a defensive shut down of Nigeria record an 84-67 win over the weekend as San Antonio Spurs shooting star Patty Mills produced a 25-point effort in the win.

Italia, meanwhile, would go on to win its opening game 92-82 against Germany.

Atlanta stalwart Danilo Gallinari had his 18-point match overshadowed by team mate Simon Fontecchio who drained 20 points in the 10-point victory.

The most impressive part about the Italians was their ability to sustain the pressure late in the game when the lactic acid is at its highest.

Italy pulled away late with a 12-0 run to end the game and Boomers coach Brian Goorjian would have had his eyes keenly on that flourish of buckets.

Defensively, the Boomers have been brilliant in their last three outing conceding a mere 220 points.

It is what this Australia team has rested its hat on throughout the lead-up and now into the Olympics.

Expecting this to be a low-scoring affair but Australia just has too much class with the likes of Dante Exum and Joe Ingles heading the way with Mills.

SUGGESTED BET:

Boomers -7.5 at $1.84
