Tigers v Lions
July 15th
It was a head hanging week for both Richmond and Brisbane as both teams like their wounds heading into this Round 18 clash.
The Lions lost Eric Hipwood with an ACL injury in their 30-point loss against the Saints, while Richmond’s season was left in tatters after a final quarter fade out against Collingwood.
Treating Brisbane’s loss as just a blip on the radar. Joe Daniher will step up and land another body blow to the Tigers’ season.
SUGGESTED BET:
Brisbane 13.5 @ $1.90
- Suggested Same Game Multi:
- Leg 1: Brisbane -13.5
- Leg 2: Total Points Over 149.5
- Leg 3: J. Daniher 2+ Goals
- Combined odds = $6.50
Giants v Swans
July 18th
Sydney rivals do battle when the Swans and Giants bash and crash on Saturday afternoon.
The Swans have taken over as the best team in NSW and are on the verge of a top four finish if it can string a few wins together.
Leon Cameron, meanwhile, was left disappointed after his trip to Mars Stadium ended in a one-point loss against Gold Coast.
Swans may have coughed up the first fixture to Sydney earlier this year but that won’t happen again.
SUGGESTED BET:
Sydney -10.5 @ $1.89
Suns vs. Dogs
July 3rd
The sun shone down strongly on Mars Stadium as Gold Coast stole victory from the Giants by a point in Ballarat.
Touk Miller went bonkers again with 35 touches, two goals and a shoe in for three Brownlow medal votes.
But the Dogs will be keen to bounce back from a trough after being well handled by Sydney last week.
It was a rare taste of defeat for Luke Beveridge and his men this year. Don’t expect that to occur two times in a row.
SUGGESTED BET:
Western Bulldogs -25.5 $1.90
Demons vs. Hawks
July 3rd
Christian Petracca’s 33 disposals and three goals helped the Demons got their season back on the right road after despatching Port Adelaide in Adelaide last week, while Hawthorn’s struggles continued down in Tasmania.
Simon Goodwin would sense an opportunity for a big percentage boost in this game given how out of the form Hawthorn is.
Add in a 50-point win back in Round 5 this year and it’s no wonder the Melbourne are the justifiable short-priced favourite.
SUGGESTED BET:
Demons -40.5 at $1.90
Saints vs. Port
July 3rd
A month worth of wins are on offer for St Kilda when it meets Port Adelaide.
The Saints made it three on the bounce with a 30-point win over Brisbane, while Port Adelaide fell short against Melbourne.
Port Adelaide has clearly been the more consistent team this season have responded well after poor showings.
Power to flick the switch back on as Ollie Wines continues his Brownlow medal polling form.
SUGGESTED BET:
Port -2.5 at $1.90
It is incredible to think North Melbourne are playing attractive football given where it sits on the ladder but that is case heading into this game against Essendon.
An awe inspiring 10-point upset over West Coast has it close to stepping off the bottom of the ladder.
Essendon, meanwhile, will prove a tough nut to crack after holding off Adelaide with ease last weekend.
The Bombers did hammer the Roos by 12 goals earlier this season and, despite the Roos playing in better form, this should be another win to the red and black.
SUGGESTED BET:
Bombers -18.5 at $1.90
If there was a more disappointing team coming into 2021 than West Coast then you would be reaching pretty far.
After losing to North Melbourne at Optus Stadium last week, the Eagles were left searching for more answers with their spot in the eight under threat.
Adelaide has not shrouded itself in glory either but that was to be expected given the state of its list and it showed in their loss to Essendon last week.
In a 50/50 game the value lies with Adelaide.
SUGGESTED BET:
Crows head to head at $2.65
The 260th edition of this rivalry ensues when Collingwood clash with Carlton at the MCG.
Inaccuracy crushed any hope of Carlton winning against Geelong last week as the Pies made the most of a final quarter blitz to run away with a big win against Richmond.
The Pies went ahead in the historical head to head ledger against Carlton with a 21-point win earlier this season.
But without Darcy Moore to thwart the threat of Harry McKay and with Sam Walsh in career best form, it’s going to be hard to Collingwood to stop the individual talent Carlton can use to get the win.
