The Meadows Best Bet - Race 1
1
Donny Rocks $3.90
Donny Rocks looks an enormous threat in this race.
He has been desperately unlucky at his two most recent starts having been chopped out for a run or drawing a box that does not suit his ‘hunt the rails’ racing style.
He draws perfectly in box one and will have his eye on the rail as soon as the lids spring open which is the ideal situation for him given he has no dogs to cross.

Zipping Rambo $2.15
Zipping Rambo is in the form of his life.
He may not have won at his last three starts but all those runs have been enormous and against some of the best chasing greyhounds in the country.
His main rival, Hank The Hustler, is also racing well but he comes up significantly shorter in the market compared to our selection.
Most notably, Zipping Rambo has a much shorter starting price profile from when the two last met on the track.

Varden Bale $6/$2
It was hard to find a roughie runner to really get excited about on the night, but we have found a nice each-way proposition in the form of Vardan Bale.
He was a good winner only a few days ago at The Meadows 525-metre albeit in a lesser grade on the Wednesday.
He did, however, run good enough time to suggest he is capable of matching and even beating the Saturday city class chasers.
Box four represents a tough challenge given there is a bit of early pace inside of him but if he can find clean air and use his nice mid-race turn of foot then he can, at the very least, run a place.

Highly Effective $3.80
Thought he would be much closer in the market to the favourite Romantic Storm, but we get a fairly large price discrepancy.
Highly Effective lived up to his namesake last start with a dazzling 29.93 victory over 520 metres at Wentworth Park and if he can hold that form he will be winning this race.
Expecting him to start significantly shorter than the current quote.

Ziggy Stardust $4.80
The query on Ziggy Stardust last start was whether or not he could make the leap from provincial to city grade, but he answered that with aplomb.
The Adam Campton-trained dog blitzed his rivals with a 30.14 over the 520-metre circuit and scored by four lengths as a $2.60 favourite.
Doubt box eight will be of too much concern for him given he will take his time to wind up his powerful mid-race acceleration.
If he finds the rail, then they will struggle chase him down.
Wentworth Park Best Roughie - Race 10

Topper Phoenix
He might be a veteran of the chasing scene, but Topper Phoenix has found the groove for racing in recent weeks.
The Frances Harris-trained and owned chaser produced a winning run at the Wentworth Park 520 metres in Masters grade last start and pops in a similar race here.
Box seven might be a little concern given he only has won once from 15 starts but he has run a place on 10 occasions when donning the black rug.
In a field of only six runners he should be able to find space early and produce a similar run to last start.
