AFL Round 16, Tips and Previews

Gold Coast vs. Richmond

July 15th 8:10pm

Gold Coast now host Richmond at Marvel Stadium for this big Thursday night clash.

Much has been questioned about how poor the Suns have in the second half of their most recent seasons but they get Richmond at the right time.

The Tigers were horrendous in their 40-point loss to St Kilda last week and, although they might be the reigning premier, they represent horrible value.

Suns will cover the line.

SUGGESTED BET:

Gold Coast Suns +26.5 at $1.90

Cats v Bombers

July 2nd

Ooh Big “Tomahawk!”

The Big Cats struggled to score last week against a tough Lions defence. Expecting a turn around from the veteran, look for him to kick a bag against a leaky Bombers defence.

Patrick Dangerfield should also inflict some damage from the midfield with the classy onballer back in form and recovered from injury. This experiences Cats outfit should be too much for the up and coming Dons.

Expect a free flowing affair, Essendon have frothed a shoot out all season.

Tipping the Cats to cover the line in this one.

SUGGESTED BET:

Cats -28.5 @ $1.90

Demons v Giants

July 3rd

There should be a red and blue army at the MCG for this clash.

It’s not yet snow season yet for our beloved MCC Demons supporters.
They have been absolutely terrific so far this season. The Demons are deservingly red-hot favourites in this clash.

On the other hand, the Giants have been a yo-yo, so up and down this season and impossible to trust on a weekly basis. I am suggesting small forward Kysaiah Pickett kicks a bag, he is always lively and around the packs.

Also Melbourne should easily cover the line in this contest.

SUGGESTED BET:

Demons -26.5 @ $1.90

Crows v Lions

July 3rd

The Big Texan and his Crows look set to host the rampaging Lions at AAMI Park.

The Lions were absolutely dominant last week against Cats. Brisbane blood one of the best forward lines in the competition and should be much too strong for a Crows outfit suffering the usual inconsistencies of such a young squad.

Given Brisbane’s dominance this season the line seems to be fantastic value. Get on it before it moves!

SUGGESTED BET:

Lions -21.5 @ $1.88

Hawks v Power

July 3rd

Silk, how have you done it?400 games!

This is an amazing milestone for an absolute champion of the game. It is quite fitting the clash coming against him from his former side the Power.

The Power have been dominated at home but struggled on the road and against top 8 sides this season, only beating the Swans in the current top 8.

There is some amazing value for the young Hawks side who should be fighting, all the way to the finish line.

SUGGESTED BET:

Hawks Win @ $3.10

Dockers v Blues

July 3rd

Due to a fixture change from WA boarders the game will now be player at the MCG. Nathan Fyfe will be back for this clash. The Dockers have looked great in patches this season, last week beating the Magpies away from home.

Meanwhile, The Blues have promised a lot in the pre-season but are yet to deliver.

This is doomsday for both clubs who are fighting for the last finals spot.
Sticking with the Dockers herein a close contest

SUGGESTED BET:

Freo @ $1.90

July 4th

The Swans look set to clash with roaring Eagles at GHMBA stadium, in the early Sunday spot.

The old South Melbourne faithful will be travelling down to Geelong to watch their beloved Swans. I think they will have a joyful train ride home.

West Coast have looked lacklustre on the road this season, particularly down in Geelong, where they recently got thumped by 97 points.

Meanwhile, the Swans have been very consistent on the road this season. I think they will be far too good for this old, seasoned Eagles outfit.

SUGGESTED BET:

Swans @ $1.85

July 4th

Caretaker coach, Robert Harvey, will have his hands full against an inform Saints outfit.

Last week the Saints smashed the Tigers and held them to a miserable 22 points.

The Pies faithful have been promised a new game plan but are yet to see these promises delivered and have been rather lacklustre since their win against the Demons with Nathan Buckley in charge.

I am tipping the Saints to be a class above in this clash and get the much needed 4points for Coach Brett Ratten.

SUGGESTED BET:

Saints @ $1.85

The bottom of the table North Melbourne have showed much promise of late. They have been playing consistent football.

It is a shame they bump into a red-hot Dogs outfit who’s midfield is simply too classy for the Roos.

The price is very short for the Dogs here, so I am imagining that the game will be high scoring.

The Dogs like to attack through the middle and play a great brand off football.

Suggesting a cheeky double here with Dogs to win into over points for the match. The roof will be closed so it should be easier to kick a large bag of goals.

SUGGESTED BET:

WB win into Total Points +159.5 @ $2.30
