Statuario $5.00
Statuario looks hard to toss.
The D’argento gelding is one classy customer, and his current form is hard to fault.
He excels beyond 2000m and is drawn to perfection on Saturday.
The SA Derby placegetter strips fitter after a lengthy and fruitful campaign, and he meets similar opposition here.
With even luck throughout, I expect him to play a major role in the finish.
Firm Agreement can run a race at a decent price.
The Yes Yes Yes gelding is model of consistency, and if he puts his best hoof forward on Saturday, I expect him to fight out the finish.
The longer trip is advantageous, and I suspect he is ready to produce a peak performance for the preparation.

Private Eye $9.50
Private Eye is ready to turn back the clock.
The rising eight-year-old resumes after producing a string of impressive jump outs, and he traditionally performs well fresh.
His record at the distance must be respected, and I suspect he will be fully tuned for a first-up tilt.
His best effort here would be fences and panels too good for his rivals, and the form around him has repeatedly stood up.
Joliestar will start as the race favourite after a successful campaign to date.
The Zoustar mare was brilliant in the Group 1 Newmarket Handicap at Flemington, and her form during the Championships in Sydney was rock-solid.
The effort behind the flying Jimmysstar reads incredibly well for this event, and I suspect this event has been a long-range target from the astute camp.
Jumping from a different suburb is her biggest obstacle.

Bubba's Bay $19.00/$5.00
Bubba’s Bay is over the odds.
The Cable Bay mare was ok without threatening first-up, and a recent barrier trial on the Gold Coast caught the eyes of punters.
Her record at the track and trip speaks volumes, and she has been specked at a price since acceptances were finalised.
From a perfect inside draw she can ping the lids and pilot the field, and if she finds the bunny uncontested during the early stages of the race, she can claim the final event on the program.
Too consistent to dismiss!
Kin will have supporters after producing two solid performances to date for the campaign.
The Impending mare is due for a change of luck in-transit, and I suspect she strips fitter after covering more ground than the early settlers at her latest outing.
The 1200m suits, and I expect her quote to shorten significantly before the barriers open on Saturday.
Her racing pattern and style will always require an element of good fortune.

$135 for 50%
Angel Capital has one hoof on the till in the Fred Best Classic.
The one-time Australian Guineas favourite has upside and progression for days, and I suspect he is in for a breakthrough campaign.
We have a handful of runners flying the quaddie flag in a very competitive edition of the Kingsford Smith Cup, while Firm Agreement, Statuario, and King Of Thunder, are set to lock horns during the final furlong of the Queensland Derby.
It’s a throw at the stumps in the lucky last!
