Norrie vs Zverev
July 6th
It’s an action-packed Saturday of Wimbledon for Australian punters, with World #4 Alexander Zverev looking to cruise through to the fourth round against local hope, Cameron Norrie.
Zverev, who enters the match as $1.17 favourite with Bet Nation, had few issues in his Round of 64 clash with Marcos Giron and dismantled the American 6-2, 6-1, 6-4 in straight sets. He’ll undoubtedly present fresh legs and wild confidence after a similar result against Roberto Carballes Baena two days earlier.
As for Norrie, the British faithful will have high hopes of an upset on home soil as he attempts to win his first-ever major and first title since Rio de Janeiro last year. The former World #8 has reached the third round with two straight sets victories of his own, but was certainly made to work against fellow countryman, Jack Draper, with two tiebreakers.
Runner-up at Roland Garros in May, expect a few upset British fans when Zverev wipes the floor with their boy.
Suggested Bet:
Total Games Under +34.5 at $2.00
Rybakina vs Wozniacki
July 6th
The new firm takes on the old firm in this third-round blockbuster, with Elena Rybakina ($1.29) looking to advance against former World #1, Caroline Wozniacki.
Rybakina powered through her opening match against Elena-Gabriela Ruse (6-3, 6-1) before finding trouble in the second round. After taking the first set against Germany’s Laura Siegemund, the Kazakh star dropped the second as she failed to capitalize on her service game (57 points each for the match). However, the 2022 Wimbledon champion fought back valiantly and recaptured her impressive form ahead of tomorrow’s match.
Wozniacki was equally impressive with how she fought through her second-round match-up against 30th seed, Leylah Annie Fernandez, saving a match point for a 6-3, 2-6, 7-5 victory. Far from the powerhouse she was in the early 2010s, Wozniacki will still cause headaches for Rybakina with her never-say-die attitude and high tennis IQ.
Suggested Bet:
Rybakina to win 2-1 (Sets) at $3.00
Popyrin vs Novak
July 6th
Can there be an Aussie upset at Wimbledon?
While Alex de Minaur remains our greatest hope of bringing home the title, Popyrin continues to fly the flag as the only other Aussie remaining in the draw. However, a third-round match-up with champion Serb, Novak Djokovic, is arguably the toughest assignment in world tennis. This is despite Popyrin’s incredible comeback win over Tomas Martin Etcheverry, 3-6, 6-4, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3.
As for Novak, he’s chasing his eighth Wimbledon title this year and first since 2022. He dropped a set against British wildcard, Jacob Fearnley, in his most recent outing, but it would take a brave punter to bet against the all-time champion going deep in the tournament.
We’ll need to get creative to find value in this match, but a 3-0 whitewash at $1.83 seems more than reasonable.
