Anamoe $2.5

Could very well be the best three-year-old in the country after a Group 1 winning campaign as a two-year-old.

This James Cummings-trained colt took out the Sires (1400 metres) after an incredible run in the Golden Slipper.

There has been a little query over his fitness coming into this resuming run with reports that he had a temperature heading into this new campaign.

His 742-metre trial at Randwick on September 2 should allay any fears after he sat five wide on the speed on the and was only beaten a head by Group 1 winning sprinter Gytrash.

From barrier five it is hard to see him settling as far back as he did in the Blue Diamond and Golden Slipper.

Should be within striking distance at the bend and can use his devastating turn of gears to obliterate this field.

Silent Impact $4.4

Silent Impact gives us the vibe of a typical Gai Waterhouse-trained middle distance horse on the rise.

The three-year-old gelding has done a nice job to score victory at his two career starts to date with the first being a two-length win over 1000 metres and the second being a similar margin win over 1200 metres at Rosehill.

Tim Clark remains in the saddle after riding him last start and in his 1000-metre trial on August 30.

The rise to 1500 metres is typical of Waterhouse and it will likely see Clark use up the inside gate to boot through, lead and get all these horses chasing him down from the halfway point.

Brother Bassy $11/$3.2

Brother Bassy was a victim of circumstance last start when being beaten by over six lengths as a $3.2 favourite at Mudgee.

The five-year-old gelding raced over 1200 metres with 61.5kgs on his back and knocked up badly half way up the straight to tail out.

After a vet examination it was revealed the horse was suffering from ‘thumps.’

We can draw a line through his last run and focus on the fact the market still warmed to him in that Mudgee race.

Big jockey change with Hugh Bowman going is always a positive sign.

QUADDIE

Q

$120 for 100%

On face value there seems to be a fairly long tail to each quaddie leg at this Run to the Rose meeting.

Going to try and thin up the selections so we do not have to outlay more in order to get a feasible winning percentage.

Leg 1: 3, 4, 10
Leg 2: 2, 4
Leg 3: 4, 6, 7, 8, 9
Leg 4: 6, 7, 9
