Randwick August 9th, Tips and Previews

Best Bet - Randwick Race 8

Private Eye $2.50

Private Eye is a marvel.

The Al Maher gelding never runs a bad race, and his recent performance in the Group 1 Stradbroke was first-class.

The predicted heavy track plays into his favour, and he has been heavily supported since acceptances.

His record at the trip must be respected, and I suspect he is ready for one final climb up the most incredible mountain of them all, the Everest.

Hard to toss!

Robusto is racing well at present.

The Churchill gelding got the job done right on the wire at his latest outing, and I suspect he is ready for his next assignment on Saturday.

The talented six-year-old looks the likely leader on paper, and he has the fitness edge over most of the field.

I am unsure dropping back to 1200m is advantageous.

Saltcoats $4.40

Saltcoats is ready to explode!

Both runs this campaign have caught the eyes of punters, and I suspect he has been timed to the minute to peak in his third-up assignment.

The Ardrossan gelding possesses a devastating turn of foot, and I suspect he has a massive engine under the bonnet.

The 54.5kg is luxurious, and if he doesn’t get too far out of his ground during the middle stages of the race, I expect him to prove too strong in the shadows.

Glory Daze is a model of consistency.

The Cotai Glory gelding won impressively three starts back in a hot form race, and his form since has been super honest.

He loves Randwick more than T.J. Smith, and he seems to grow an extra leg in the wet.

A must for broader multiples and exotics.

Winston Hills $10.00/$3.00

Winston Hills is over the odd.

The Invader gelding resumes after a string of head-turning barrier trials, and I suspect he has been set for a first-up tilt.

His fresh record is near perfect, and his versatility is exceptional despite his limited racing experience.

1200m is ideal at this stage of his campaign, and I expect him to reach some dizzy heights during the upcoming spring carnivals.

After producing a successful and consistent campaign to date, Kerguelen will have plenty of supporters.

The Lonhro gelding finds his pet distance, and he meets the usual suspects.

The sting out of the track adds strength to his case, and there has been a tsunami of money for the big boy early doors.

He may need some luck getting off the dulex as they run for the doctor!

It’s a field job in the lucky last!
