Fawkner Park $2.30
Fawkner Park looks the good thing of the day on a cracking program.
The form around Antino reads incredibly well for this event, and he should be rock-hard after a lengthy and fruitful campaign.
The Zoffany gelding will eat up every inch of the 2200m, and I suspect he will appreciate meeting easier opposition.
From barrier three, the talented six-year-old can camp behind the leaders throughout, and if Ethan Brown can steer the enigmatic runner off the dulex as they swing for home, I expect him to prove too strong late.
His recent winning record is the primary concern.
Kovalica is racing well without winning.
The Ocean Park gelding savaged the line in both the Hollindale and Doomben Cup, and I suspect his best performance here would see him figure in the finish.
He is ready for the longer trip, and I suspect he has the fitness edge on the majority of his rivals.
His winning form disappeared with Harold Holt.

Cool Archie $3.50
Cool Archie is airbourne.
The Cool Aza Beel colt put his high-quality rivals to the sword at his latest outing, and he looks well placed in this company.
The step out in trip is advantageous, and his versatility is exceptional for his age and limited race day experience.
His quote has been well supported since acceptances, and I expect the big boy will settle in the first half of the field with cover from the awkward alley.
With even luck in transit, he will make his presence felt at the pointy end of the contest.
Grafterburners is the obvious dangerous to the short-priced favourite.
The Graff colt is racing in great spirit and has been screaming out for the mile all campaign.
The perfect inside draw puts him in the mix, and the key appointment of Craig Williams speaks volumes.
If he sees daylight as they run for the doctor, he can fight out the finish.

Rise At Dawn $12.00/$3.30
Rise At Dawn is ready to win.
The Almanzor gelding is currently having a breakthrough campaign, and his performance in the Group 1 Doncaster is still fresh in the memory bank.
He was game in defeat last weekend behind the flying Joliestar, and he looks dangerous on the quick backup.
The handicap conditions suit him to a tee, and the inside draw should give his more fancied rivals sleepless nights leading into Saturday’s feature event.
Over the odds!
War Machine will start a deserved favourite.
The Harry Angel gelding is winning for fun at present, and he gets his opportunity to claim Group 1 glory on Saturday.
He strips fitter as a result of recent racing, and the 53kg puts him into all winning conversations.
Jumping from a different suburb is the primary concern.
QUADDIE

$80 for 100%
Cool Archie and Grafterburners are set to lock horns during an exciting edition of the J.J. Atkins.
Both are racing well at present, and I suspect punters will gravitate to the key runners before the barriers open.
We have gone extremely wide in a tricky Dane Ripper, while a handful of selections fly the quaddie flag in the time-honoured Group 1 Stradbroke handicap.
Fawkner Park has one hoof on the till in the Q22.
Best of luck!
