Statuario $3.60

Statuario is poised to strike on the big Group 1 stage this Saturday.

The D’argento gelding savaged the line at his latest outing at Caulfield, and it was a popular victory among favourite supporters.

The progressive three-year-old deserves his shot at the top level, and there has been an avalanche of money for the big boy in most all-in markets.

The inside draw is advantageous, and the longer trip is perfect at this stage of his preparation.

Hard to toss.

Goldrush Guru has been racing well without winning.

After a lengthy campaign, the American Pharoah colt is rock-hard fit, and the form around him has stood up time and again.

The 2500m suits, and the weights scale plays into his favour.

His recent winning record is the primary concern.

Somewhere $6.00

Somewhere, it was okay without threatening in the Bendigo Guineas.

The Puissance De Lune gelding looks suited over the longer trip, and he strips fitter after his first-up assignment.

The perfect inside draw puts him into all winning conversations, and the key appointment of the inform Mark Zahra speaks volumes.

The lightly raced three-year-old has upside for days, and I suspect this race has been pencilled in since the moon landing.

Acid test!

On Display will have supporters after producing a consistent preparation to date.

The Fastnet Rock filly has form around the progressive Zloties, and her best performance here could be fences and panels better than her rivals.

The Ben Melham factor will attract further market support, and with even luck-transit, I expect her to figure in the finish.

She tends to find trouble at the pointy end of a contest.

Easy Campese $17.00/$4.00

Easy Campese is over the odds.

The Sidestep gelding is racing better than it reads in the bible, and I suspect he is ready to explode third-up from a spell on Saturday.

The rising eight-year-old looks well placed in this company, and current track conditions play into his favour.

Dropping back to 1200m could prove a training masterstroke, and I expect his quote to shorten dramatically before the barriers open on Saturday.

Eroica is racing well at present.

The inside draw is advantageous, and the apprentice claim brings the Vadamos mare into all winning conversations.

Her form around the useful Zanthron speaks volumes, and I suspect she has the fitness edge on the majority of her rivals after a lengthy campaign.

Her record at the trip is the biggest deterrent.

$120 for 50%

The top three in the market will fight out the Port Adelaide Cup.

All are racing well at present, and I except them to lock horns inside the final furlong on Saturday.

We have a handful of selections in a very competitive edition of the Adelaide Guineas, while the talented Statuario has one hoof on the till in the Group 1 South Australian Derby.

Nothing would surprise in the final event on the program.

Best of luck!
