Best Bet - Randwick Race 10

Clean Energy $2.50

Clean Energy was an impressive last-start winner at Moonee Valley.

The Zoustar filly sprouted wings late, and she deserves her shot at this level on Saturday.

Her versatility is exceptional for a three-year-old, and she handles all track conditions.

The victories over the flying Lady Shenandoah read incredibly well for this event, and the addition of the world-class Ryan Moore puts one hoof on the till.

Hard to toss!

Lilac is too consistent to pot.

The Justify filly has been racing well this campaign without winning, and the drop back to 1200m could prove a training masterstroke.

She looks well placed in this company, and I suspect she will receive a soft run in transit jumping from an inside draw.

The consistent three-year-old tends to find one better at the pointy end of the contest.

Gringotts $7.00

Gringotts produced a win for the ages in the Group 1 George Ryder Stakes.

The Per Incanto gelding got the job done in a frantic finish, and the form of the race will stand up throughout the autumn and beyond.

His record at the mile is near perfect, and I suspect the handicapper missed him with the allocated weights.

The middle gate is advantageous, and Tom Berry knows him better than himself.

Hard to toss!

Tom Kitten is coming off a forgive run in the George Ryder.

The pace never suited the big boy throughout, and he saw several dead ends at the pointy end of the contest.

The start prior, he claimed the All-Star-Mile on the wire, and if he could produce a similar effort in Sydney town on Saturday, the famous Randwick mile could be his for the taking.

His racing pattern and style will always require an element of good fortune.

Switzerland $16.00/$4.00

Switzerland is fast approaching the crossroads of his career.

The Group 1 Coolmore Classic winner hasn’t fired a shot this campaign, and the punters are getting restless.

The Snitzel colt has trialled well since his latest flop leading into Saturday’s event, and the big boy is undefeated, third up from a spell.

His record at the trip must be respected, and I suspect the Chris Waller and Ryan Moore combination will attract late market support.

If he can recapture his mojo on race day, I expect him to figure in the finish.

Sunshine In Paris is a marvel.

The Invader mare was brilliant during the spring, and she was ok without threatening fresh against a track bias.

The rising six-year-old is a 1200m specialist, and her best performance here could be fences and panels better than her rivals.

Her second-up record is the biggest detterent.
