Best Bet - Caulfield Race 7

Mr Brightside $2.00

Mr Brightside did everything but win first-up in the C.F. Orr Stakes.

He sat on top of a genuine tempo and was only grabbed in the shadows by a smart one.

The Bullbars gelding traditionally motors second-up from a spell, and he is a track and distance specialist.

From the wide gate, he will push forward and find a spot in the running line, and if Craig Williams presents the people’s horse with his run at the right time, I expect him to prove too strong late.

Class personified!

Evaporate can run a drum at a decent quote.

The talented three-year-old was luckless fresh in a hot-form race, and I suspect he has plenty of improvement to come for the campaign.

The progressive Per Incanto gelding with drift back and find his hooves, and if the peloton leaves the kettle on during the early stages of the race, he can gobble up his more experienced and seasoned rivals late.

Acid test!

Field Of Play $5.00

Field Of Play is ready to claim the Blue Diamond.

The Deep Field gelding has made every post a winner during the early stages of his career, and he looks well-placed in this company.

The 1200m is ideal third-up, and he is ideally drawn in barrier five.

Blake Shinn has a good association with the talented two-year-old, and with even luck in transit, I suspect the dynamic duo are poised to climb a Group 1 mountain together.

The one to beat!

My Gladiola can play a major role in the pointy end of the contest.

The I Am Invincible filly looked the winner at her latest outing, and she lost no admirers in defeat.

She strips fitter after her recent performance, and I suspect she will peak in her autumn Grand Final.

Her temperament throughout may decide her fate.

Rey Magnerio $10.00/$3.00

Rey Magnerio is a marvel.

The Magnus gelding doesn’t know how to run a bad race, and he was a brilliant first-up winner despite covering more ground than the early settlers.

The big boy looks dangerous when he rolls forward, and if he can find a prominent position on Saturday from an ideal draw, he will lob to win.

He is tough as old boots, and a Group 1 victory here would greatly reward effort and consistency.

In Rey, we trust!

The classy Estriella will start race favorutie.

The I Am Invincible mare is coming off a string of impressive barrier trials, and her spring form is still fresh in the memory bank of most punters.

Her versatility is exceptional, and she has been heavily supported in most all-in markets.

The awkward gate and the allocated weight are among the primary concerns.

QUADDIE

$105 for 100%

Mr Brightside has one hoof on the till in the Futurity Stakes.

The rising eight-year-old finds his ideal conditions on Saturday, and I suspect there are only several runners that can spoil his party.

Field Of Play, Palm Angel, and My Gladiola, will all be prominent in a very competitive edition of the Blue Diamond Stakes, while we have gone extremely wide in the Oakleigh Plate.

Dashing Duchess and Touristic will determine our quaddie hopes in dreams in the lucky last!
