Grand Impact $6.00

Grand Impact was a brilliant last-start winner at Wyong.

The Satono Aladdin gelding is a rock-hard fit after a lengthy and fruitful preparation, and the talented five-year-old looks well-placed in this company.

From the awkward gate, he will roll forward and pilot the field, and if he can run out a strong seven furlongs, he may prove hard to run down.

His fate may be decided during the early stages of the race.

Oughton is coming off a forgive run.

The More Than Ready gelding was too bad to be true at his latest outing, and his supporters were left scratching their heads.

His prior form reads well for this event and has been well-supported since acceptance.

Take on trust.

Termagant $3.20

Termagant looks poised to strike.

The Deep Field mare was brilliant without winning fresh, and her second-up record is perfect.

She strips fitter after her recent outing and is a track and distance specialist.

The flood of early money is ominous, and I expect her quote to continue to shorten until the barriers open on Saturday.

The awkward gate is the only deterrent.

Stanislaus is over the odds.

The ex-Godolphin resumes for a strong local stable, and his best form is good enough to win this event by fences and panels.

A recent jump-out put the writing on the wall for a bold first-up performance, and he already boasts a victory over the five-furlong scamper.

Barrier one is advantageous, and with even luck in transit, I expect him to figure in the finish.

Acid Test.

Hatchet $10.00/$3.00

Hatchet is over the odds.

The Worthy Cause gelding savaged the line fresh from a minute back, and his second-up record is outstanding.

Vlad Duric has a great association with the precocious six-year-old, and the big boy looks well placed in this company.

The double figure quote has been nibbled at early doors, and the camp are training winners for fun at present.

Jumping from a different suburb is his biggest obstacle.

Metalart will start one of the shortest-priced favourites of the meeting.

The Better Than Ready gelding dropped from the clouds for an overdue win at Eagle Farm at his latest outing, and a recent barrier trial has kept his legs ticking over nicely.

His record at trip is near faultless, and champion jockey Michael Rodd has ticked up five wins aboard the consistent four-year-old.

He tends to find one better on race day.

QUADDIE

Q

$120 for 50%

Happy to stay out of the opening leg of the quaddie.

Nothing would surprise, and a rough result is on the cards.

We are very bullish about Grand Impact in the Sunshine Coast Cup, while Hatchet, Metalart, and Millane, will fight out the finish in the penultimate event on the program.

We have a handful of runners that will determine our fate in the lucky last!

Leg 2: 6

Leg 3: 2, 6, 7
