Democracy Manifest $4.40

The people’s horse Democracy Manifest looked a good thing licked in the Group 1 Epsom Handicap.

He was blocked for a run at a crucial stage, and fans of a succulent Chinese meal were left steaming.

His win prior in the Cameron Handicap was stunning, and with even luck on Saturday, he should prove too strong late.

His best form reads incredibly well for this event, and I expect his quote to shorten significantly.

Hard to toss!

Cotehele is super honest.

The Tavistock gelding doesn’t know how to run a bad race, and his first-up second at Rosehill put the writing on the wall for a big spring preparation.

He will appreciate the step out to the 1500m and strips fitter here.

From barrier five, he can sit comfortably in the running line with cover, and if he is presented with his run at the right time, he can greet the judge before his rivals.

His recent winning record is the primary concern.

Spangler $5.50

Spangler is ready to win!

Both runs this preparation have caught the eye, and his late turn of foot is sensational.

The step out to 1600m is ideal, and his form around Democracy Manifest reads incredibly well for this event.

If he can sit midfield with some cover, I expect him to make his presence felt in the shadows.

Flying Crazy oozes class.

The Flying Artie gelding will get the run of the race from barrier three, and I suspect he has the fitness edge on the majority of his rivals.

He traditionally produces his best performances at this stage of his campaign, and the flood of early money indicates another bold showing.

Too consistent to dismiss.

Rainbiel $10.00/$3.00

Rainbiel is overdue!

The Toronado mare promised the world during the early parts of her career, and she looks well placed on Saturday, meeting easier opposition.

She has been racing well this preparation without threatening, and I suspect she is ready to explode at this stage of her campaign.

Her inconsistency is the primary concern.

Commemorative will start close to odds-on.

The I Am Invincible filly turned heads at her only career start, and her trials leading into this event have been bombproof.

The talented three-year-old has been heavily supported in early markets, and I suspect she has plenty of natural improvement ahead of her.

I’d prefer to watch her and avoid the skinny odds at this stage of her campaign.

QUADDIE

Q

$90 for 50%

Cepheus and Unspoken look to have to opening leg of the quaddie between them.

Both are winning for fun at present, and I expect a bold showing from the well-supported commodities.

Democracy Manifest and Cotehele will battle it out in the Five Diamonds Prelude. At the same time, I expect Flying Crazy, Spangler, and For Valour to be prominent in the Big Dance Wild Card Handicap.

We have gone extremely wide in the lucky last in search of some value and insurance.

Leg 1: 1, 11

Leg 2: 2, 5

Leg 3: 1, 7, 9
